Throughout 2025, President Donald Trump repeatedly asserted that his controversial tariff policy would result in $2,000 dividend checks for taxpaying Americans who meet a certain income threshold, at one point promising during a December 2025 cabinet meeting, “Next year is projected to be the largest tax refund season ever, and we’re going to be giving back refunds out of the tariffs, as we have taken in literally trillions of dollars.” However, the payment timeline for those dividend checks now seems to be in question.

During a Jan. 7 interview with The New York Times, when pressed about his dividend check promise, Trump responded with confusion (“I did do that? When did I do that?”). Further, there is now some question as to the payment distribution timeline, as Trump has declared the payments do not require congressional approval, while some insist that congressional approval is indeed required. Finally, there is the question of legality: If the Supreme Court strikes down Trump’s controversial tariff policy as illegal, any profits they generated will not be distributed, as reported by USA Today.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is an emergent element in the tech industry — one that requires laborious and repetitive testing to help it develop. A number of platforms pay users to train AI using such tasks as tagging and data entry.

If you’ve amassed a concentrated knowledge base around a specific subject, you can use a platform like Skillshare to hold online courses or tutoring sessions to teach others.
