Peaky Blinders viewers have at least a dozen new episodes to look forward to!
Netflix and the BBC announced in October 2025 that a sequel series, which has already been confirmed for two seasons, is in the works.
Steven Knight, who created the original series and subsequent movie, teased that the series will feature a "new generation of Shelbys." Knight will also be in charge of the sequel series, but any new or returning cast members have not been announced.
While the exact details of the sequel series — including the name — have been kept underwraps, it will be set in the 1950s, more than 10 years after the events of the movie, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, which hit theaters and Netflix in March 2026.
The original Peaky Blinders starred Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby, the leader of a criminal enterprise in Birmingham, England. The series ran for six seasons, from 2013 to 2022.
Here's everything to know about the Peaky Blinders sequel series.

The unnamed sequel series is set in the 1950s and will resume more than 10 years after the events of Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man.
"Once again it will be rooted in Birmingham and will tell the story of a city rising from the ashes of the Birmingham blitz," Knight said in a press release in October 2025. "The new generation of Shelbys have taken the wheel, and it will be a hell of a ride.”
Netflix later specified that the series will take place in 1953 after Birmingham has been "heavily bombed in World War II" and is trying to build a "better future out of concrete and steel."
"The race to own Birmingham’s massive reconstruction project becomes a brutal contest of mythical dimensions," the description reads. "This is a city of unprecedented opportunity and danger, with the Shelby family right at its blood-soaked heart."

The series will be produced by Kudos and include other executive producers Karen Wilson, Martin Haines, Jamie Glazebrook and Jo McClellan.
"We couldn’t be more excited to be embarking on a new chapter of Peaky Blinders with our wonderful partners at Kudos, Garrison Drama and the BBC," Netflix spokesperson Mona Qureshi said in a statement. “There are few modern storytellers to match Steven Knight and we will be on the edge of our seats as he returns to the streets of Birmingham and to the next generation of the Shelby family.”
Director of BBC Drama Lindsay Salt also commended Knight's past work and expressed excitement for the sequel series, saying, "Steven has worked his magic once again and I can’t wait for his scripts to be brought to life when filming begins in Birmingham ... There’s plenty of drama for Peaky fans to look forward to!”

Although casting details have not been released, Knight previously confirmed to Variety in March 2026 that Barry Keoghan's character, Duke Shelby, will be included in the sequel series.
However, when asked if Keoghan would reprise his role, Knight replied, "I can't comment." Knight may have remained vague, because the series picks up more than a decade after the movie.
