BASEBALLDe Pere 4, Kaukauna 3

DE PERE - The Redbirds improve to 13-5 overall with the nonconference win over the Ghosts.

The game was tied 3-3 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Fisher Anderson was hit by a pitch to force in the go-ahead run.

Jake Mleziva earned the win for De Pere. He surrendered six hits and three runs over five innings, striking out five and walking two.

Kaden Kress had two hits and Quentin Gustman drove in two runs for Kaukauna.

Ashwaubenon 10, Menasha 6

ASHWAUBENON - The Jaguars scored six runs in the third inning to take an 8-3 lead and went on to the nonconference win over the Bluejays.

Nolan Vertz had two hits and three RBIs for Ashwaubenon. Andrew Jeske added two hits and Caden Blasczyk had two RBIs.

Kingston Vang pitched 4⅔ innings for the win. He allowed nine hits, six runs (four earned), walked four and struck out six. Alex Thayse pitched 2⅓ innings, did not allow a hit or a run and struck out two.

Luxemburg-Casco 4, Xavier 2

APPLETON - Ethan Engum allowed three hits and two runs in 4⅓ innings to get the win for the Spartans in the victory over the Hawks.

Engum struck out five batters and walked three.

Noah Chervenka drove in two runs for Luxemburg-Casco. Tatem Klaubauf had two hits.

Quinn Comerford had two hits for Xavier, including a solo home run.

Frankie Cavaiani took the loss for Xavier. He went seven innings, allowing four runs on seven hits, striking out eight and walking one.

Seymour 5, West De Pere 4

SEYMOUR - The Phantoms scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning to take a 4-3 lead, then Seymour scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning to pull out the win.

Romy Oskey, Brayden Banker and Nolan Beilfuss each had two hits for Seymour.

Kobe Barth pitched five scoreless innings, allowed two hits, walked three and struck out eight for Seymour.

Waupaca 4, Freedom 1

FREEDOM - The Comets scored four runs in the top of the fourth inning in the North Eastern Conference win over the Irish.

Freedom had three errors in the game and all four Waupaca runs were unearned.

Westen Lauritzen drove in two runs for Waupaca and Jay Card hit a double.

Freedom got two hits and an RBI from Ryan Heran. Gavin Brennenstuhl hit a double.

Anikan Stern pitched a complete game for Waupaca. He allowed six hits, one run, walked two and struck out five.

Elijah Shepard pitched a complete game for Freedom. He allowed five hits, four runs (all unearned) and struck out four.

Shawano 14, Wrightstown 5

WRIGHTSTOWN - The Hawks led 5-4 after four innings then scored four runs in the fifth and four in the sixth to pull away for the win.

T.J. Johnson was 5-for-5 with four RBIs for Shawano, which had 17 hits. Kristoffer Kallies had three hits and three RBIs, including a home run. Kody Popelka drove in three runs and Drew Hagedorn hit a solo home run.

Grant Keszo pitched five innings to get the win. He allowed five hits, five runs, walked three and struck out six.

Rogan Thompson had three hits, including two doubles, and drove in three runs for Wrightstown. Theo Van Rossum also hit a double and Michael Besel had a triple.

Brillion 7, New Holstein 6

NEW HOLSTEIN - The Lions scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to rally from a 6-4 deficit and beat the Huskies.

Joe Shimek, Hayden Cousin and Landon Mathes each had two hits for Brillion. Shimek had two doubles, while McCormick Zutz had a double and two RBIs. Cousin scored three runs.

Shimek pitched a complete game for the win. He allowed five hits, two earned runs and struck out seven.

Chilton 8, Sheboygan Falls 0

SHEBOYGAN FALLS - The Tigers scored five runs in the fourth inning to break open the game in the win over the Falcons.

Nathan Mueller pitched a complete game for the shutout for Chilton. He allowed four hits, walked two and struck out 10 batters.

Easton Wagner had three hits for Chilton. Trent Beyer and Carsin Cullen each drove in two runs, and Ethan Schneider had two hits and an RBI.

Hilbert 10, Howards Grove 0

HILBERT - The Wolves scored five runs in the first inning and four in the fourth inning in the victory over the Tigers.

Spencer Karls had two hits and four RBIs for Hilbert. Brody Hein added two hits and three RBIs, Drew Halbach had two hits and two RBIs, and Kendrix Grenzer had two hits.

Hein pitched four innings to get the win. He allowed one hit, no runs, walked two and struck out five.

Amherst 13, Shiocton 2

SHIOCTON - The Falcons scored four runs in the second inning and five in the fourth inning in the victory over the Chiefs.

Wyatt Beaudoin had two hits and two RBIs for Amherst. Cash Cullen added three RBIs and Logan Hintz drove in two runs.

Michael Glodowski pitched five innings to get the win. He allowed two hits, two runs (one earned) and struck out six.

SOFTBALLNeenah 15, Appleton West 0

FOX CROSSING - The Rockets scored eight runs in the first inning and five in the fourth inning in the four-inning victory over the Terrors.

Appleton West was held to one hit, a single by Marie-rae Ott.

Fox Valley Lutheran 8, Kimberly 0

APPLETON - Madison Babcock pitched a no-hitter and struck out 15 batters to lead the Foxes to the nonconference win over the Papermakers.

Babcock walked one batter as the Foxes improved their overall record to 16-2.

FVL scored seven runs in the second inning, including a three-run home run by Kinley Peterson.

Bella Ellestad was in the circle for Kimberly. She struck out four and walked one.

Kaukauna 11, Freedom 1

KAUKAUNA - The Ghosts scored six runs in the second inning and five in the third inning in the victory over the Irish.

Brooke Sowinski had two of the three hits for Freedom in the game.

Stevens Point 6, Appleton East 0

STEVENS POINT - Audrina Placeway had two hits, including a home run, and drove in four runs for the Panthers in the nonconference win.

Reegan Kedrowski pitched a one-hitter for SPASH. She walked five and struck out three in the complete game.

Shawano 3, Xavier 2

SHAWANO - Shawano scored three runs in the third inning in the victory over Xavier.

Riley Krueger had three hits and two RBIs for Shawano.

Kadence Meyers pitched five innings and allowed five hits for Shawano to get the win. She allowed two runs, walked two and struck out six. Lily Bubolz pitched two scoreless innings, allowed one hit and struck out two.

Kalia Stammer had two hits and an RBI for Xavier.

Morgan Staszak pitched a complete game for Xavier. She allowed eight hits, three unearned runs, walked two and struck out four.

Two Rivers 4, Little Chute 0

LITTLE CHUTE - The Raiders scored three runs in the first inning in the victory over the Mustangs.

Rylee Timm and Reagan Stalter each had two hits for Two Rivers.

Little Chute was held to one hit, a single by Madalyn Bork.

Anna Klein pitched a complete game for Two Rivers. She struck out 13 batters.

Hilbert 6, Howards Grove 2

HILBERT - Grace Kloehn had three hits, including a home run, and drove in three runs for the Wolves in the victory over the Tigers.

Kloehn also pitched a complete game for the win in the circle. She allowed seven hits, two earned runs and struck out two.

Winnebago Lutheran 9, Chilton 8

CHILTON - The Vikings scored the winning run in the top of the ninth inning on a sacrifice fly to beat the Tigers.

Lily Strutz pitched five innings and didn’t allow an earned run for WLA. Freshman Raelynn Schaumburg pitched the eighth and the ninth to get the win.

Kynzie Rank had three hits, while Keyanna Rank, Abby Walta, Ceil McAuly and Olivia Mathwig all had two hits for WLA.

Iola-Scandinavia 20, Weyauwega-Fremont 2

WEYAUWEGA - The Thunderbirds outhit the Warhawks 12-6 in the four-inning victory.

Maya Munoz and Ruby Maus each had two hits for the Thunderbirds. Rayanne Clendenning had three RBIs.

Clendenning started and pitched the first two innings to earn the win. She walked four and struck out two. Charlotte Isermann pitched the final two innings. She walked one and struck out three.

The Thunderbirds improve to 8-3 in the CWC-East and 12-3 overall.

GIRLS SOCCERNeenah 3, Appleton East 1

APPLETON - The Rockets scored two goals in the second half to pull away from a 1-1 halftime score for the Fox Valley Association win over the Patriots.

Appleton North 1, De Pere 0

DE PERE - Brooke Schuh scored the game’s only goal in the Lightning’s nonconference win over the Redbirds.

Lexi Schuh had an assist for North.

Lightning goalie Ava Koleske made four saves.

GIRLS LACROSSEDe Pere Ghostbird Invitational

DE PERE - Appleton United finished with a 3-0 record to win the eight-team invitational that concluded May 9.

Appleton beat DeForest 14-8 in its opening game, with Chloe Rhoda, Naomi Konkle and Riley Harris each scoring three goals. Ally Rhoda and Kailey Heindel both had two goals, while Kayden Smit had one goal.

Rachel Racine made six saves in goal.

Appleton defeated Bay Port 13-5 in the semifinals. Ally Rhoda and Harris each had three goals. Candice Guerrero and Heindel had two goals apiece, while Smit, Maelin Wood and Konkle also scored.

Morgan Muntner made 13 saves in goal for Appleton.

In the championship game, Appleton knocked off Janesville 14-6. Heindel and Harris each had three goals. Ally Rhoda had two goals, while Guerrero, Chloe Rhoda, Claudia Cross, Smit, Kinsley Torud and Konkle had one goal each. Guerrero also had two assists.

Muntner made five saves in goal and Racine had three saves.
