Bills' Deone Walker downplays 'limelight' ahead of Chargers game

Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Deone Walker has seen his name in plenty of headlines through two games of the 2026 NFL season.

Walker's presence has been felt on a new level this year.

Walker, a fourth-round pick in 2025, has a quiet rookie season. By comparison, Walker is playing out of his mind now.

Walker was awarded eight QB pressures and four QB hits in 19 games in 2025. In his two games this season, he has nine QB pressures and four QB hits.

Those type of numbers get the recognition, something Walker wants nothing to do with.

"The consistency is what separates the good players from the great ones," Walker said. "I don't care about the limelight, as long as we get the W."

Despite Waker's wishes, his head coach wasn't listening to that request. Joe Brady gave Walker all the praise.

“He had an outstanding offseason. I think the scheme fits him," Brady said via video conference. "He has a style of play that is exactly what we’re looking for.”

Walker's next chance to impress will come on Sunday as the Bills (2-0) host the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 3.
