Taylor Swift first worked with Ethan Hawke and his Dead Poets Society costar Josh Charles in the singer's music video for 2024's "Fortnight"

Ethan Hawke made the cut after all!
Despite previously speculating he wouldn't make the invite list, the actor, 55, was spotted in New York City with his wife, Ryan, dressed to the nines as they arrived at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding at Madison Square Garden on Friday, July 3.
Hawke was dressed in a navy suit for the occasion, matching Ryan's gown, which featured several shades of blue.

While chatting with Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of FX's The Lowdown on Sept. 25, he wished the happy couple the best, but noted he didn't believe he'd be at the big event.
"Good luck to them, I'm happy for them," he shared of Swift and Kelce, both 36. "I don't think I'm gonna be invited, but I can hope," he said. "I just want to be invited to a Chiefs game. That'd be fine. I don't need to go to the whole megillah."
During a May 2024 interview on The Jess Cagle Show with Julia Cunningham, the five-time Oscar nominee discussed how his surprise appearance in Swift's "Fortnight" music video would be a defining part of his career.
"I thought, as I was flying out there, I thought, you know, I've worked so hard in my life, and I have a feeling this will be in my obituary," he teased at the time, adding, "I might get a few other mentions."

That same month, Hawke made an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and explained how the epic visual collaboration came together after he and Charles, 52, received a call about Swift’s new album, The Tortured Poets Department.
“I think she wanted to hide a little Easter egg about Dead Poets Society,” he said of the video’s clever reference.
The Before Sunrise actor went on to describe what it was like for him and his costar to keep their cameos a secret ahead of the release of "Fortnight."
He then revealed that he even had to refrain from telling his teenage daughters that he made an appearance in Swift’s music video, saying, “No, I signed an NDA.”
“You tell my teenage daughters that I’m going to meet Taylor, and everybody at school’s going to know,” Hawke added. The actor joked that when his daughters did find out about his cameo, “the look on their faces was one of profound disappointment.”
“Taylor belongs to them,” the Training Day star said in defense. “I can’t have that on them, so I had to low-key it.”
