Ex-Fox News host Maria Bartiromo may be headed to a new network after reportedly meeting with CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss.

According to Rob Shuter’s newsletter, Naughty But Nice, Bartiromo and Weiss have already discussed the possibility of working together, with a spot on 60 Minutes part of the conversation. ā€œMaria and Bari have already spoken,ā€ a television insider told Shuter. ā€œMaria isn’t sitting around licking her wounds. She’s moving fast, and 60 Minutes is absolutely in the mix.ā€

Fox News announced Bartiromo’s departure from the network on September 3, saying in a statement, ā€œWe thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter.ā€

According to a report from Status, Bartiromo, who hosted three shows across Fox News and Fox Business, was accused of leaking an internal document to the White House. The correspondence reportedly related to the network’s decision to limit coverage of Donald Trumpā€˜s primetime speech about the 2020 election, in which he claimed others, including China, had interfered in the 2020 election.

Days later, Bartiromo’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, denied she was fired. ā€œThe irresponsible reports that have been published stating that Maria Bartiromo was fired or is no longer an employee of Fox are absolutely and unequivocally false,ā€ Freedman said. ā€œMake no mistake, we have the receipts and witnesses and they will come out whether through the courthouse or otherwise.ā€

He added, ā€œThose reporting her firing or the incredulous facts supporting that fiction have exhibited a complete and utter reckless disregard for the truth.ā€

Shuter’s new report claims that Bartiromo wants to remain ā€œa major playerā€ in the news industry, which is why a move to Weiss’ CBS News is seen as a viable option.

ā€œMaria brings something Bari understands is valuable: access,ā€ the insider said, noting that she could reach ā€œCEOs, billionaires, political power players and Wall Street titans.ā€

Last week, it was speculated that Bartiromo could be a potential replacement for Karoline Leavitt as White House press secretary. While Vice President JD Vance laughed off those rumors, PresidentĀ Trump has previously spoken highly of Bartiromo.

ā€œI can’t believe Maria Bartiromo is no longer going to have her great show(s) on FoxNews/Business. Three different shows, always number one. Maria is a total professional, and a true warrior,ā€Ā the president wrote on Truth Social. He added, ā€œHer fans, of which there are many, will not be happy. God bless you, Maria!ā€
