Five of NASCAR's most storied racetracks have struck a first-of-its-kind partnership with Airbnb.

It makes the $80.54 billion lodging platform the Official Lodging Partner for Bristol Motor Speedway, Darlington Raceway, Martinsville Speedway, North Wilkesboro Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway beginning with the 2027 NASCAR season.

The deal, announced Tuesday at the South Carolina State Capitol in Columbia alongside Darlington Raceway leadership and elected officials from several states, will see Airbnb listings displayed directly on the websites of each participating racetrack. Meanwhile, local South Carolina leaders have intervened as a historic track is in danger of demolition.

The integration gives fans a seamless way to discover nearby accommodations when planning race weekend travel.

Airbnb says that 63 percent of US Census tracts contain listings from home-sharing hosts but no hotels whatsoever.

The five tracks selected for this initial partnership sit in exactly those kinds of communities - Darlington, South Carolina; Martinsville and the surrounding Southside Virginia region; Talladega, Alabama; Bristol and the Tri-Cities area of northeast Tennessee; and Wilkes County, North Carolina, home to North Wilkesboro.

These are places where race weekend demand dramatically outpaces the available conventional accommodation supply, and where local residents have been informally hosting fans for decades.

Airbnb's Head of US East Business, Adam Alfandary, framed the partnership as a way of formalizing and amplifying something that already exists organically in NASCAR country.

"There are few events more deeply woven into the fabric of American communities than NASCAR," he said. "The racetracks in this partnership sit in towns where hotel rooms are scarce but the welcome runs deep, especially places like Darlington, Talladega, and North Wilkesboro, where neighbors have been opening their doors to race fans for generations. This partnership puts locals at the front of the pack and helps communities that make race weekends possible share directly in the economic opportunity it creates."

NASCAR's Vice President of Track Sales, T.R. Stape, described the arrangement as an extension of what the sport's heritage tracks have always represented.

"Our NASCAR racetracks sit at the center of some of the most passionate fan experiences in sports because they are deeply rooted in the culture and communities they call home," Stape said. "Together, we're helping extend the impact of our events beyond the track and into the surrounding communities that play such an important role in every race weekend."

Airbnb listings on participating racetrack websites will be available ahead of the start of the 2027 season. The company was founded in 2007 and now has more than five million hosts who have welcomed over 2.5 billion guest arrivals in almost every country globally.
