Alli and Derek got married on Feb. 21 in Terra Ceia, Fla.

The next day, the groom was pranked by the bride and the wedding photographer with photoshopped wedding photos

"I thought it was so funny and he was honestly such a good sport," photographer Samantha Gore tells PEOPLE

A bride conspired with her wedding photographer to prank the groom, and the result was hilarious.

Alli and Derek tied the knot on Saturday, Feb. 21, at The Eliá Weddings & Events Venue in Terra Ceia, Fla. The next day, the couple received a small selection of sneak peek wedding photos from their photographer, Samantha Gore of SLPhotography. However, when Derek looked through the photos with his wife, he grew increasingly confused — and disturbed.

Derek's physical appearance was altered for the worse in many photos. Several body parts, including his forehead, ears, lips, nose and nipples, were either enlarged, shrunken or distorted in unflattering ways while Alli was unaltered.

Alli recorded Derek's reaction to the wonky photos, telling him their photographer requested a video of them reviewing the photos so that he "wasn't suspicious." In the video, which has gone viral on TikTok, Derek's smile quickly faded. "That one looks weird. Why does that one look like that?" he said with a laugh at one photoshopped photo, before questioning the others.

Alli played along, acting just as confused as Derek and pointing out his many imperfections. She asked him while uncontrollably laughing, "Why do you look like that? Why do you look so weird?" At one point, Alli joked that Derek looked like he was about to cry. "I think it's her camera," Derek tried to rationalize. "It's like she caught it at the worst times. I feel like she was looking at you the majority and caught some weird ones of me."

The post, which was captioned "Wedding sneaks but make it punked🤪," garnered more than 1.1 million views and 115,000 likes.

"Him not even questioning that it’s edited has me cackling," one person commented, while another TikTok user wrote, "The fidgeting 😭😭 he’s holding back tears the wholeee time."

Exclusively speaking with PEOPLE, Gore explains that the prank was Alli's idea. She had seen another groom get pranked online, and suggested they also try to do something "funny." At the time, she noted that Derek is a "very kind of go with the flow guy" and is "probably the perfect person to pull the prank on."

When Gore was editing the photos she was "cracking up."

"It's just such an unusual thing to have to look at the pictures that I created and make them something totally different," the Florida and destination wedding photographer says. "They were such subtle changes too, which I know the bride actually told me that [Derek] wasn't really fully noticing, he was kind of silent at first. So she kind of had to engage it a little bit because he was silently, I think, [having an] internal monologue, just like, 'What's going on?' "

When Gore finally saw the reaction video, she couldn't stop laughing. "I was, again, cracking up. I thought it was so funny and he was honestly such a good sport," she says.

She adds, "I think the funniest part is that I know that he was trying to spare my feelings because he was on video. Because I said that I wanted their reaction to the sneaks that I sent, he was definitely trying to be nicer. If he did not know a camera was filming him, I feel like he definitely would have been a little bit more unhinged."

"So I think it was actually super funny that he was trying to spare my feelings because we have such a good client relationship with them. I thought it was hilarious," she continues.

Gore was surprised but pleased that the video went viral. "I thought that it was funny that everyone could share in the giggles because wedding days are honestly the best days, but they're also stressful. So I think it's nice to have a little bit of humor behind it," she says. "I think it's funny that he showed up and is like, 'Wow, we spent a lot of money on this photographer and I look like that in the picture.' So kind of a little lighthearted thing coming off of a wedding day high."

Gore "definitely" thinks she's going to get more photo prank requests now, and already has another one coming up. "Us girls really like to kind of give our men some crap sometimes, kind of give it back, because you know how how guys can be sometimes. They're a little overwhelming. So I think it's funny to be able to give them some payback sometimes," she says.
