Glenn Close is recovering from hip replacement surgery, with her sights set on a busy stretch of premieres.

The "Fatal Attraction" actress, 79, explained in an Instagram video why she has been using a cane, thanking fans for their "love" and support as she shared an update on her recovery.

"I have a cane because I had a complete hip replacement," Close told her followers in the Oct. 20 video. "Found out that my left hip was in really bad shape, and my whole thing right now is to keep myself in running order so that I can really leap into whatever challenges come my way."

Although she described herself as "hobbling around on a cane for now," Close reassured fans that she is doing well.

"Don't worry. I'm feeling great," she said. "I have my wonderful, wonderful family around me and look forward to all the adventures coming."

The update came after the star stepped out with a cane at the Oct. 15 premiere of "La Bola Negra" in New York.

Producer Nina Jacobson told USA TODAY that Close surprised the filmmakers with "a very unexpected email" about her interest in playing Drusilla.

"We were just so wowed and struck by the fact that somebody like Glenn Close would go and put her heart on her sleeve to us to want to play this character," Jacobson said.

Close plays attorney Dina Standish in "All's Fair," Ryan Murphy's Hulu legal drama about a group of female divorce lawyers who start their own firm. The second season premieres Nov. 4 on Hulu.

Close also has an honorary Oscar to look forward to. She is set to receive the award at the Governors Awards on Nov. 15, alongside fellow honorary Oscar recipients Ridley Scott and animator Floyd Norman, according to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The actress has earned eight Oscar nominations, including for "Fatal Attraction," "Dangerous Liaisons" and "The Wife," without a competitive win.
