Michelle Pfeiffer's two children are all grown up.
The acclaimed actress, who celebrates her 68th birthday on April 29, 2026, has become one of the most well-known names in the industry, but even with her highly public job, she has kept her personal life mostly private. Pfeiffer shares daughter Claudia, whom she adopted in 1993, and son John Henry, born in 1994, with her husband of over 30 years, David E. Kelley. Throughout their childhood, the Dangerous Liaisons star protected her two kids from the spotlight, and she took a brief hiatus from acting to focus on family. Once Claudia and John left the house, though, Pfeiffer jumped back into acting — with her kids' encouragement.
"They said, 'Mom, are you ever gonna go back to work?' I said, 'What do you mean? Isn't it great that I'm home?' " she recalled to The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast in 2023.

The entire family came out to support Pfeiffer in what was her first film in five years, 2007's Hairspray. In the movie musical, she portrayed antagonist Velma Von Tussle, opposite a star-studded cast featuring John Travolta, Queen Latifah, Zac Efron and more.

On Instagram in June 2021, she shared a rare photo "out on the town" with Claudia, of whom she has constantly expressed her awe.
"Boy, there's nothing typical about my girl,” Pfeiffer told Good Housekeeping in 2007. “I wanted her to be a really independent, outspoken young woman, and I sure got that! She's also very creative and inquisitive."
