Homicide investigation underway after argument turns deadly in Hesperia

Homicide detectives launched an investigation after an argument turned deadly in Hesperia on Monday night.

Few details were initially available regarding the incident, which took place about 10:45 p.m. May 11 in a residential neighborhood in the 9200 block of Second Avenue, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department logs.

"During an argument between the suspect and victim, the victim sustained a major injury," sheriff's department spokeswoman Jenny Smith said. "The victim was transported to a local hospital and was pronounced deceased."

No further details were released Tuesday.

"This is an active investigation," Smith said.
