Maggie Kim, the wife of influencer Paul Kim, has broken her silence on Instagram after the death of their 5-year-old son, Micah, on Dec. 31.

On New Year’s Eve, Paul — a Catholic content creator — shared the devastating news of his son’s death in an emotional video posted to Instagram, saying that "after fighting 11 long hard days, [Micah] went home to the house of our father."

"We are so proud of him,” said Paul. “I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart as his dad, on behalf of my family, for all the ways you guys prayed and lifted us up during this time.”

"Micah, I miss you. There is a deep, aching hole in my heart. Even though our home is filled with people, it’s too quiet without you," began the grieving mother in a new post shared to Instagram on Jan. 2. "I keep thinking I’ll look outside and see you laughing on the swings. Or you’ll slowly open my door and walk up to my bed and that I’ll hear your sweet voice saying, 'Mama?' "

Continued Maggie: "Oh, the pain is indescribable. And yet, you have shown us in multiple ways that you are with us. It’s not the same joy as holding your hand or hearing your voice, but there is an unexplainable joy that only comes with knowing you are with Jesus. That you are in our true home. And that you are very, very happy."

"Please continue to visit me and help mama keep going. You were always such a good helper and eager to make me smile. And I will keep asking for your help. My boy. I am so proud of you," she added in his post.

Paul, who has over 300,000 followers on Instagram where he shares videos about his Catholic faith, first revealed on Dec. 21 that his son had been rushed to the hospital in an ambulance following a “medical emergency.”

He gave his followers subsequent updates over the next two weeks, sharing that Micah had a very severe case of the flu that prompted sepsis and seizures and required that he be placed on life support. Paul also shared that brain scans found that activity was “not present.”

Micah’s health journey captured the attention of the globe — Paul revealed that his posts had reached all seven continents — including singer-songwriter Gwen Stefani, who commented on one of Kim’s posts, “🙏 praying for u.”

“This incredibly difficult, impossible time for our family — it's been the hardest thing I've ever been through in my life and it continues to be,” Paul said in the video sharing that his son had died. "For those two weeks we were fighting long and hard, we were consulting legal, health, ethical teams even outside the hospital. Just to make sure we weren't leaving any stone unturned. In many ways we were fighting for Micah to buy him as much time as possible, until he passed. As a father, that is my duty I was called to do that. Even if in God's ultimate will it wasn't meant for him to recover."
