Craig Carton heard Sarah Jane Ramos’ recent comments about Dak Prescott and somehow decided the person who deserved the lecture was Ramos.

Prescott’s ex-fiancée appeared to accuse the Dallas Cowboys quarterback of repeatedly cheating during their relationship while shutting down online pregnancy speculation. The allegation remains unverified, and Ramos did not name Prescott directly in the sentence. Carton still had plenty to say about it.

His basic argument was not that cheating is good. It was that dating the Cowboys’ starting quarterback apparently comes with a warning label.

“Sweetheart, I think it sucks that you fell in love and didn’t see the writing on the wall,” Carton said while discussing Ramos’ comments on his show. “You’re dating the starting quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys. It’s his job to cheat on you.”

Carton kept going.

“You knew. You knew! You had to know,” he said. “You’re not dating a firefighter. You’re not dating a plumber. You’re dating the most popular guy in the state of Texas.”

That is certainly one way to process an infidelity allegation.

The Craig Carton Show’s post framed his stance a little more gently: “You’re dating the Cowboys QB. What did you expect?”

The whole discussion started after Ramos responded to pregnancy speculation online. She said she was not pregnant and was happier after leaving a relationship in which she said she had been “getting cheated on repeatedly.”

Those comments reopened attention around the former couple’s split, which happened in March, about a month before their planned wedding. Prescott previously pushed back on what he called “false narratives” surrounding the breakup.

Carton’s point was less about what supposedly happened behind closed doors and more about the celebrity attached to Prescott’s job.

That does not make the logic any less bizarre.

Being famous may create more opportunities to cheat. It does not turn cheating into a job requirement, no matter how many stars are on the helmet.

The latest allegation is another chapter in a messy split that has stayed public for months. Prescott addressed the fallout in August while emphasizing that outside narratives did not always match reality.

Carton skipped the careful analysis of the relationship and went straight to occupational hazard.

For plumbers, apparently the job description stops at plumbing. For the Dallas Cowboys quarterback, Carton thinks fidelity is negotiable.
