Life has changed quickly for Cade Klubnik. Just months after receiving his call from the New York Jets in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, the rookie quarterback celebrated another milestone away from the football field.
He married his longtime girlfriend, Macey Matthews, on Sunday, June 28. They shared moments from the celebration on his Instagram story as family and friends gathered to witness the couple exchange vows. The smiles said it all.
While Jets fans are eager to see Klubnik continue developing behind veteran Geno Smith and Skylar Thompson, the young signal-caller spent part of his summer celebrating something far more important than football.
Cade Klubnik and Macey Matthews' journey began long before the NFL

Long before he became an accomplished college football quarterback, Klubnik was building a relationship with the woman who would eventually become his wife. The two met while attending Westlake High School in Austin, Texas, where Klubnik established himself as one of the nation's premier prep quarterbacks.
During an extraordinary high school career, he threw for 7,426 yards, 86 touchdowns, and only seven interceptions while leading Westlake to three state championships. His accomplishments earned him USA Today Offensive Player of the Year honors twice and the prestigious U.S. Army Player of the Year Award before he signed with the Clemson Tigers.
Klubnik continued to add to his résumé with the Tigers, winning two ACC Championship Game MVP awards before the Jets selected him with the 110th overall pick in last April's NFL Draft. Training camp will arrive soon enough. Once rookies report early on July 25, Klubnik's focus will return to learning the offense, competing for reps, and continuing his development as one of the organization's young quarterbacks. For now, however, football has taken a temporary back seat.
The NFL season will provide plenty of opportunities to discuss depth charts, preseason performances, and quarterback competitions. This week belonged to Cade Klubnik and Macey Matthews as they celebrated the beginning of a new chapter together. It's a book they began writing together years ago in the halls of a Texas high school, and it has now carried them all the way to New York.
