John Krasinski and Emily Blunt prioritize family by alternating work schedules to ensure one parent is always with their kids
The couple often brings their daughters Hazel and Violet to filming locations
Krasinski shared that he brought his family along with him to film A Quiet Place in New York and Jack Ryan in London
It may be a big year for John Krasinski and his wife Emily Blunt, but the two are making sure to prioritize time with their two daughters.
While appearing on CBS Mornings on Friday, May 15, the actor, whose new movie Jack Ryan: Ghost War premieres on May 20 on Prime, was asked how he and his wife balance their busy careers with caring for their two daughters — Hazel, 11, and Violet, 9.
"Honestly, the simple answer is ‘kids and family first,' " says Krasinski. "We always have done, luckily, a good job of doing one [movie] and then the next [one]. So one of us is always home with the kids."

"And listen, we bring those kids wherever we’re shooting and wherever we can spend time with them," he continues. "So we shot all of this in New York, A Quiet Place is in New York, and Jack Ryan was over in London. They came over in London with us. It’s a circus! It’s a family circus!"
This past September, Blunt and Krasinski brought their daughters Hazel and Violet to the 2025 US Open in New York City in a rare family appearance.

The two young girls joined their parents for the men’s singles championship match between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, the latter of whom took home the prize. The two girls were spotted enjoying some pizza as they intently watched the championship match.
During the game, the camera highlighted the couple, and their daughters quickly took the opportunity to make their presence known by waving towards the big screen, per E! News.

In July 2023, Blunt opened up a bit more about prioritizing her family and shared that she was taking time off to spend time with their daughters.
“This year, I’m not working,” she said on the Table for Two podcast in July of that year, per E! News. “I worked quite a bit last year, and my oldest baby is nine, so we're in the last year of single digits.”
Since then, Blunt has returned to acting. She told PORTER magazine that, although she spends a large part of her day filming, she makes sure she's home for bedtime.
"Once my children start to find me repellent, once Mommy doesn't reign supreme, I will do it, but I feel bedtime is this essential anchor," Blunt said. "The 10-minute chats where they tell you everything — you don't want to miss them."
