President Donald Trump's granddaughter is a passionate golfer who is anticipated to be watching the much-awaited PGA Championship next week.

Kai Trump, 18, the oldest Trump grandchild, is a dedicated golfer who announced her commitment to play women's golf for the University of Miami Hurricanes beginning this fall in August 2024. The daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and his former wife Vanessa Trump has embraced public attention since accompanying her grandfather during his 2024 campaign.

Speaking with Irish Star Sports, Kai revealed which players she's eager to watch at the 2026 PGA Championship, which begins Thursday, May 14, at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. It comes as Donald Trump caught out after Bryson DeChambeau fitness test lie.

Kai first gained widespread recognition when she addressed the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee in July 2024, supporting her grandfather's reelection bid. Others have discovered Kai through her growing presence as a social media influencer.

Through her social media platforms, Kai has offered insights into her life, spanning her high school experiences to exclusive content from her Ryder Cup visit with her grandfather. She has accumulated more than 1.48 million YouTube subscribers and over 2.7 million Instagram followers.

Kai told the Irish Star that she will be tuning in to the 2026 PGA Championship next week, with all eyes set to be on Rory McIlroy - who claimed victory at the Masters in April - defending champion Scottie Scheffler, Cameron Young, and Matt Fitzpatrick.

"I'll be watching," Kai said. "I'm obviously looking forward to it because I love watching all the majors. But I think either Rory or Scottie - I'm rooting for those two," she continued. "So, we'll see what happens."

Kai recently made an appearance at the 2026 Masters at Augusta National, posting pictures on social media of herself grinning ear-to-ear on the green grass. She wrote in her caption: "Had the best time at Augusta! It is definitely my favorite golf tournament. Huge congrats to @rorymcilroy."

She subsequently revealed on her widely followed YouTube channel that she endured a "scary" allergic reaction while at Augusta National, requiring a steroid shot. She disclosed that a reaction to hand soap caused a breakout on her face, though the rash has since subsided.

According to the Palm Beach Post, she also joined her grandfather for the final round of the Cadillac Championship on Sunday, May 3, where she enjoyed the VIP experience in the Trump Suite on the 18th green. Beyond joining Trump for a front-row seat watching the world's top golfers, she also takes to the course with him. Kai revealed in an October 2025 YouTube video that she has been playing golf with her grandfather for years. "It's something he's always loved," she said. "And it's become a way for us to spend time together."

According to her NCSA Sports recruiting profile, Kai has been playing golf for 13 years. She has honed her skills at Benjamin School, an institution in Jupiter, Florida, and recently marked her final day of high school.

Kai has competed at the Nicklaus Junior Championship, the Dustin Johnson World Junior Championship, and a Junior Tournament at the Sage Valley Golf Club in Graniteville.

In November 2025, she made her LPGA debut at The Annika at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida. She finished her first round 13-over-par 83, and her two-round total was 18-over 158, which placed her last among 108 players.
