Katie Gaudreau's baby son is already getting to know his second home.
On Friday, June 26, the sister of the late NHL stars Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, 27, shared a series of photos on her Instagram of her baby boy Matthew visiting an ice rink for the first time.
In her caption, Katie shared that she'd decided to take her son to her late brothers' ice rink, adding that there was "no better place."
"Thursday mornings are for hockey with our people. 🏒🤍🖤," Katie wrote in her caption. "According to Pop-Pop, baby Matthew has to get the smell of the rink in his lungs… we don’t make the rules, we just follow them. 🤍.""There was no better place for MJ’s first rink visit than Uncle John and Uncle Matty’s rink."
Katie first announced on Instagram on Feb. 26 that she and her husband Devin were expecting their first child. The couple posted a video in which Devin could be seen with his back to the camera, with Katie standing behind him and slowly hugging him. She wrapped her arm around him, revealing a pair of baby sneakers in one hand, then lifted a sonogram with her other hand.

“Our favorite news to share. 🤍,” the Instagram caption simply read.
Katie and Devin’s pregnancy announcement came less than a year after the high school sweethearts tied the knot in July 2025. The couple married nearly one year after they canceled their Aug. 30, 2024, wedding following the deaths of Katie's brothers Johnny, 31, and Matthew, 29.
On the eve of the couple’s wedding, the NHL stars were struck and killed by an alleged drunk driver while they were biking. They were to serve as groomsmen at her wedding the next day.
Then on June 20, Katie and Devin welcomed their first baby together, announcing the exciting news on June 23 via Instagram. The newborn entered the world weighing 7 lbs., 10 oz. In the post, the new mom shared the first few photos of her son, who is named after his late uncle.
"He’s here. 💙," she captioned her post, adding the little one's full name and birthday. "The moment our hearts grew bigger than we ever imagined. Welcome to the world, sweet boy. 🤍"
