This isn't the first time the family embraced some adventure together on the water. This past summer Bell and Shepard took their family to Tennessee for a change of scenery from their home in Los Angeles.
The Frozen star told PEOPLE about getting out of the city for a while.
“We went to Tennessee for the summer and stayed on the lake,” Bell said in October, joking, “and my children are lake rats. They were in every morning, they were jumping in and getting way too close to the turtles and collecting frogs.”

“I think it's really healthy for me and my family to burst our bubble often and get outside of the city of Los Angeles, as much as we love it, and just see the rest of the world,” continued Bell, who also mentioned that she would forget to take pictures because they were all so in the moment.
"I think [it's] the best way to really judge if your travel is filling up your soul," she said.

Overall, the family enjoyed their summertime escape.
“The rhythm of the day was perfect because in the morning, we would jump in the lake and we would go on the boat. We would get really sweaty and then we would shower, and then we would drive into Nashville, which is a glorious city,” she concluded.
