Taylor Swift has officially picked up a new title inside the Kelce family, and Kylie Kelce slipped it naturally into a conversation about an increasingly difficult debate at home.

During the Aug. 20 episode of Not Gonna Lie, Kylie was discussing her continued campaign to convince husband Jason Kelce that their family needs a cat when she explained why their daughters keep asking for one. “I grew up in a cat-dog house, like both at all times, and now our kids have influences in their life, Aunt Taylor is a big one where they get to be around cats,” she said, according to PEOPLE.

The remark marked the first time Kylie had publicly referred to Swift as “Aunt Taylor” since the singer married Travis Kelce in July. Jason and Kylie's daughters: Wyatt, 6, Elliotte, 5, Bennett, 3, and Finnley 16 months, have spent time around Swift's three cats, giving their mother some unexpected help in the family's long-running pet debate.

That feline influence actually predates the marriage. During Swift's 2025 appearance on New Heights, she revealed that she had already introduced the girls to Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson and Benjamin Button while attempting to undo one particularly creative warning Jason had given his daughters about cats.

‘Aunt Taylor’ Is Helping Create a ‘Cat Need’ at Home

Kylie's cat campaign came up during her conversation with actress Leslie Mann on the Aug. 20 episode of Not Gonna Lie. Kylie explained that growing up with both dogs and cats made having both kinds of pets feel normal to her, while her daughters are now getting their own exposure to cats elsewhere, particularly through Swift.

The problem begins when the girls come home. “And then we go home and there are no cats, and they're like, ‘But we want cats,’” Kylie said. She joked that Jason now needs to “lock in” because “there is cat need in this house.”

Jason has long resisted adding a cat, with his allergy among the reasons discussed publicly in the couple's ongoing debate. Kylie now has four daughters whose enthusiasm is being reinforced every time they spend time with cats outside their own home.

Swift Previously Tried to Undo Jason's ‘Cats Are Poisonous’ Story

Swift had already described her role in the Kelce family's cat debate during her August 2025 appearance with Travis and Jason on New Heights. Jason had jokingly told his daughters that cats were poisonous, giving Swift a specific mission when the children eventually met Meredith, Olivia and Benjamin.

“As soon as I got the kids around the cats, it was my goal to prove to them that they weren't poisonous,” Swift said during the official New Heights episode. She remembered the girls pointing out Meredith's presence while she emphasized that the cat had not harmed them.

Benjamin proved particularly helpful because the ragdoll is comfortable being held. Swift described Bennett petting and cuddling him, while Jason acknowledged that Benjamin was the member of Swift's feline trio most willing to spend time around him.

The Girls Were Already Excited About Getting Another Aunt

After Swift and Travis announced their engagement in August 2025, Kylie told Good Morning America the following month that her daughters were excited about what the marriage would mean for them personally.

“The girls are thrilled,” Kylie said at the time. “They're so excited they're getting another aunt.” She added that the family was happy for the couple, saying, “We love love, and we love Taylor and Trav.”

That anticipated family role became official when Swift and Travis married at Madison Square Garden on July 3, 2026. Kylie and Jason's four daughters served as flower girls, scattering petals during the ceremony, while Jason served as his brother's best man.

Kylie later explained that seeing their daughters participate was one of the reasons Jason became so emotional during the wedding. She described the ceremony as “magical” and said the experience of watching the girls walk down the aisle had hit her husband especially hard.
