Lanterns Episode 7 Ending Just Answered a Major Sinestro Question

Lanterns Episode 7 just solved one of Sinestro’s biggest mysteries, and the answer changes everything heading into the finale. The penultimate episode finally revealed where the escaped villain has been hiding, and it connects directly to Hal Jordan’s murder.
Sinestro’s mysterious location explained after the Lanterns Episode 7 ending
Sinestro turns up on Antaan’s destroyed homeworld at the end of HBO’s Lanterns Episode 7. John Stewart and the Hal-ogram find him trapped on an island there. A building on that island appears to pump poisonous gas into the planet’s atmosphere.
The episode never names the planet. However, John recognizes it because Antaan’s henchmen injected him with the dying civilization’s memories in Episode 2. “We weren’t the only ones looking for a Manhunter,” John tells the Hal-ogram. Antaan blames the Manhunter, who posed as Zoe on Earth, for his people’s genocide.

John and the Hal-ogram reach the planet using a portal sphere from Hal’s storage unit vault. The vault only opens when Hal identifies himself aloud. The vault also holds a bag with supplies, including a handgun and a canteen. Meanwhile, Guy Gardner told John in Episode 6 that someone broke Sinestro out of Spacekaban, an extraterrestrial prison.
The gas lingers in the planet’s clouds and water. During a storm on the lake, it makes John hallucinate his abusive father and younger self. When John falls in, the Hal-ogram pulls him back onto the boat. Shortly after, a cloaked figure grabs the Hal-ogram and demands their boat. John punches the figure, revealing Ulrich Thomsen’s Sinestro. “Great arm, kid,” Hal tells him.
Episode 7 does not reveal who freed Sinestro or how he reached the planet. However, Hal kept a private portal to Sinestro’s hiding place before his death. Sinestro also knew more than Hal about the Manhunters and the Guardians’ buried crimes in 2016. Someone murdered Hal a few months after he returned to Rushville. After meeting Kerry Kane, the Hal-ogram names her as his killer, but John does not appear swayed..Lanterns now heads into its season finale with Sinestro on the dead world.
