A woman discovered that her boyfriend's playlist spelled out his ex's name
When she asked him about it, he called her a conspiracy theorist and told her to take a nap
The woman asked Reddit for advice on how to handle the situation
One woman feels like she's losing her mind after stumbling upon her boyfriend's newest playlist.
The 26-year-old shared on Reddit that she's been with her 28-year-old boyfriend for three years. Before they got together, he dated another woman for four years in college, and while they ended on weird terms, "he swears he’s over it."
"Yesterday, I borrowed his phone to change the music in the car. I saw he had a new playlist called 'Blue Gatorade,'" she wrote. "I froze because I know that was their specific inside joke (something about a hangover cure they did together)."
While she "didn't say anything immediately," she later looked up the playlist on her phone, only to see that the first letter of the first five songs on the playlist spelled out the ex-girlfriend's name.

When she confronted him, the man laughed and said she was "hunting for drama" and that he just "added songs he likes."
When she brought it up again via text, he insisted they were "just popular songs."
"You are literally reading into things like a conspiracy theorist. I didn't even notice the letters until you pointed it out. You sound psychotic," he wrote.
She replied, "If it's a coincidence, change the order. Or change the title. It's disrespectful to have a shrine to your ex on our shared account."
However, he refused to change his gym playlist due to her "insecurity."
"This is exactly why I don't tell you things. You turn everything into a fight," he texted her. "Go take a nap or something, you're spiraling."
So, the woman turned to Reddit to ask if she was "overreacting," or if this was "actually insane?"
People in the comments section sided with the woman, agreeing that it was too strange to be a coincidence.
"That’s the weirdest gym playlist I’ve ever heard of. I thought you were crazy until I read the details and now I get it. Sounds like an ex shrine to me too. There’s something weird there. Has there been anything else weird there? I feel like there’s been some broken trust before this," one person wrote.
"This is like, a pretty clear cut case of gaslighting (a term this sub loves to misuse). He's trying to make you believe that you aren't seeing what you are seeing with your own two eyes, and calling you crazy, and trying to convince you you're 'spiraling,'" another person wrote. "The way he talks to you is disgusting, either way. That isn't the way you'd talk to a partner you loved who you thought was having a mental health episode."
