Filmed in Texas, Landman often requires cast members to spend months away from their spouses and children.
Now in its second season, the hit Paramount+ series follows Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton), a hardened and fast-talking landman who hustles to secure mineral rights, defuse disasters and keep powerful players happy in the Permian Basin. When his son, Cooper Norris (Jacob Lofland), gets pulled into the business, Tommy’s already messy personal life gets even messier — especially with his sharp, unpredictable ex-wife, Angela Norris (Ali Larter), never far from the action.
While many of her Landman castmates have adult children, Larter is raising two young kids with her husband, actor Hayes MacArthur, in Idaho. Although time away for filming is a sacrifice, she shared with CBS Sunday Morning in November 2025 that she hopes to set an example for her children by continuing to work and pursue what she loves.
"It's important that they understand that I'm a working mom because I love what I do," she said. "You shouldn't give up your dreams just because you feel like you need to stay at home with your children."

Billy Bob Thornton’s 4 Children

Thornton's character on Landman has two children, but in real life, he's a father of four.
The actor, who has been married six times, welcomed his first child, daughter Amanda Brumfield (née Thornton), in 1979 with his first wife, Melissa Lee Gatlin. The couple divorced the following year.
After two additional marriages, Thornton wed former Playboy model Pietra Dawn Cherniak in 1993, and the pair welcomed two sons, William in 1993 and Harry in 1994, before separating three years later.
Following his marriage to his Pushing Tin costar Angelina Jolie, Thornton began a relationship with special effects artist Connie Angland, and their daughter, Bella, arrived in 2004. He and Angland wed a decade later.
While speaking to PEOPLE in November 2024, Thornton admitted that he's "very protective" of his kids. That same month, he told the hosts of the Today show that he's a "helicopter parent."

Demi Moore and her ex-husband Bruce Willis welcomed three daughters during their 13-year marriage, which ended in 2000.
Choosing to raise their children largely out of the spotlight, the pair brought up Rumer, born in 1988, Scout, born in 1991, and Tallulah, born in 1994, in Moore's hometown of Hailey, Idaho.
With her daughters now grown and pursuing their own passions (which include acting!), the Landman star entered a new chapter in April 2023, becoming a grandmother when Rumer gave birth to her daughter, Louetta.
"She's just pure joy," Moore told E! News of her granddaughter in January 2024. "It really is all the cliches. You get all the fun and joy, and you get to go to bed early and have a good night's sleep."

Ali Larter’s 2 Children

Larter married MacArthur in 2009, and the couple soon began building their family.
They welcomed their son, Theodore Hayes, in 2010, followed by their daughter, Vivienne Margaret, in 2015.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Larter and MacArthur made a big change — moving their children from Los Angeles to the small town of Sun Valley, Idaho.
“We fell in love with the beauty of the mountains and their quiet grandness,” Larter explained to RUE Magazine in September 2024. “Neither of us had ever lived in a small town before. People look out for each other. There’s a real sense of community here, and we’re so happy to be a part of it.”

Looking back on fatherhood, Garcia shared his best parenting advice in an October 2013 conversation with Interview Magazine.
"You have to lead by example. You can’t say one thing and behave another way," he said. "Kids learn more from watching you in life than what you say to them. So I try to be the best example I can be to them."
Garcia continued, "I think it’s most important for children to understand the concept of respect and manners, and also work ethic."

Four months after getting married, Sam Elliott and his wife, Katharine Ross, welcomed their daughter, Cleo Rose Elliott, on Sept. 17, 1984.
In a June 2017 interview with Parade, Elliott reflected on fatherhood, saying it “completes” him.
“It’s great to have a nice career. It’s what I wanted to do since I was 8 years old, and I’m fulfilled on that level," he said. "But being a dad? That’s even more fulfilling. I have one daughter, who I love more than anyone in the world."

Kayla Wallace met her husband, Kevin McGarry, while on the set of When Calls the Heart. Both joined the series during season 6, and in September 2024, McGarry revealed that the two had quietly gotten married.
The couple are currently expecting their first child together. After announcing the news on Instagram in November 2025, Wallace debuted her baby bump at the Landman season 2 premiere in New York City.
"I'm so excited. I can't wait to meet the baby," she told PEOPLE at the time.
