Millie Bobby Brown Worked 'Tirelessly' to Design “Enola Holmes 3” Wedding Dress Similar to Her Own Bridal Gown

Millie Bobby Brown told Allure that she gave her wedding dress a second life by drawing inspiration from the look when collaborating on her Enola Holmes 3 bridal costume

The actress secretly tied the knot with Jake Bongiovi in May 2024, with the couple then having a destination ceremony in Italy

For the overseas festivities, Brown wore four wedding dresses, including a custom Galia Lahav gown

A piece of Millie Bobby Brown's most special day is now a part of Enola Holmes.

Two years after her wedding to husband Jake Bongiovi, fans have gotten to see the 22-year-old actress become a bride again in the third film of the franchise, which debuted Wednesday, July 1 on Netflix. Turns out, her actual nuptials were the inspiration behind her on-screen wardrobe.

Sitting down with Allure to showcase her beauty routine as a mom (Brown announced in August 2025 that she and Bongiovi adopted a baby girl), the star said that she worked withcostume designer Consolata Boyle to create a wedding dress similar to her very own. "We worked tirelessly on what that dress looked like. I took inspiration from my actual wedding dress..." she shared in the video published on Wednesday.

Brown also had a say in what her hairstyle would look like. "I knew I wanted to do two braids, one to symbolize me, one to symbolize Lord Tewkesbury [played by Louis Partridge]. When I tell you my wig was hanging on a by a thread because the weight of the bun and the braids was just trying to pull down..." she said.

An article published by Netflix's Tudum shared a detailed breakdown of how Enola Holmes' two wedding dresses came to be.

“At the beginning of each Enola film, I sent [costume designer] Consolata Boyle a deck of three or four main hero looks,” Brown shared. “For the first wedding, I always knew I wanted it to be a lace dress, I knew I wanted there to be an opening at the bottom, and I knew that the veil and train needed to be really long.”

Enola's final wedding ensemble, per the website, was inspired by Herbert James Draper's 1893 oil painting, Go, Lovely Rose! Tell her That Wastes her Time and Mine. “I wanted it to feel Grecian, to feel like it's kind of melting off of her,” Brown explained. “It's just this beautiful, effortless look that feels the most like Enola."

Brown and Bongiovi, the 24-year-old son of legendary musician Jon Bon Jovi, secretly tied the knot in May 2024 and celebrated their marriage with a destination ceremony at Villa Cetinale in Italy months later in October. The Stranger Things star wore four dresses for the multi-event festivities.

Her custom ceremony Galia Lahav dress was designed with intricate lace details and an exaggerated silhouette at the hips. It was accessorized with a sheer Monvieve veil.

Ahead of the reception, Brown changed into another corset-style bridal gown with a high neckline, cap sleeves and a tiered lace skirt. The shorter hemline of the gown allowed her to show off her crystal embellished Maidugura shoes by Manolo Blahnik.

Brown's two additional outfit changes included a backless halter-style Oscar de la Renta gown for the cake-cutting portion of the reception, as well as a satin off-the-shoulder minidress.
