The cast members of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives are maintaining their distance from Taylor Frankie Paul as updates in a recent domestic assault investigation involving Paul and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, continue to unfold."None of the women want to be associated with her," a source close to the cast tells PEOPLE, after a spokesperson for the Draper City Police Department confirmed that there was an open "domestic assault investigation" regarding Paul and Mortensen. The spokesperson also confirmed that "allegations have been made in both directions" and "contact was made with involved parties on [Feb] 24th and 25th." The spokesperson declined to share more amid the ongoing investigation. Reps for Paul and Mortensen did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment regarding the investigation.
“The girls are very overwhelmed. They all banded together and they don’t want to come back right now," a source close to production says. “They were just getting tired of Taylor, honestly."
Though the source claims "everything was going smoothly" before this incident, but "the girls do have a resentment towards her."
"She's been very quiet," the source said of Paul.
“They kind of all decided, as a unit, that they're taking the production pause, that they don't want to film right now," the source continues. "I don’t think they care about her really right now. They're just kind of like, ‘We're done for right now.' "

News that the cast was distancing themselves from Paul also comes after a source told PEOPLE that filming for season 5 of the hit reality TV show had halted — just days after the show's fourth season dropped on March 12.
"Taylor [Frankie Paul] has some pretty serious stuff happening regarding her past, and they will see what happens. Until that resolves, they are off," the source told PEOPLE.Reps for Paul and Hulu did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment about the production stop.
Paul was previously arrested in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident in 2023 following an argument with Mortensen. Together, the two share a 1-year-old son, Ever.

At the time, she was given misdemeanor charges of assault, criminal mischief and commission of domestic violence in the presence of a child, after she was accused of throwing a chair at Mortensen that allegedly hit her daughter, per reporting by CBS News at the time.

During a Sept. 10 appearance on Alex Cooper's Call Her Daddy podcast, Paul noted the charges “were all dropped." According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Paul pled guilty in abeyance to the charge of aggravated assault, which means that if she complies with the conditions of the plea, the charge is dismissed. All other charges were dropped.
The news also comes up just as Paul’s season of The Bachelorette is set to premiere this Sunday, March 22, on ABC. A spokesperson for the show did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
The fourth season of Mormon Wives premiered just days before the production pause, and saw many other big bombshells come to light, including the news that Paul spent the night with Mortensen the night before leaving to star in the forthcoming season of The Bachelorette.
The pair’s rocky relationship has been a throughline throughout the Mormon Wives seasons, with several members of MomTok noting in the fourth season that they were concerned that Paul wasn’t ready for The Bachelorette because of her ongoing entanglement with Mortensen.
One moment during this latest season sees Paul after landing in Los Angeles to film the ABC dating competition show, speaking with Mortensen over FaceTime. During the call, Mortensen apologizes and acknowledges that his past actions have “caused a lot of problems." He also asks Paul to “save a rose” for him, a reference to her upcoming Bachelorette appearance.
Though Paul thanked her ex for the apology, she later admitted, "The apology is just words, like it always is."
