Summary -
Nick Cannon declared he “f***s with Trump” and called Democrats “the party of the KKK” during a Big Drive episode with guest Amber Rose.
Cannon praised Trump’s second term, saying he’s “cleaning house” and “doing what he said he was gonna do.”
Historians and PolitiFact have debunked the claim that Democrats founded the KKK, citing major ideological shifts over time.
Nick Cannon has 12 children, a revolving door of talk shows, and apparently, a MAGA flag he’s been hiding under the couch.
On the Friday, March 28 episode of his web show Big Drive, the 45-year-old host sat down with none other than Amber Rose — professional Donald Trump endorser and MAGA ally — and the two went full political. What started as a car ride turned into something that’s going to follow Nick Cannon on the internet for a very long time.
Rose fired the first shot, saying, “Democrats don’t care about Black people. They don’t care about people of color. Republicans do, and that’s the misconception.” And instead of pumping the brakes, Nick Cannon hit the gas.

“I agree with you 100 percent,” Cannon replied. “People don’t know that the Democrats are the party of the KKK. People don’t know that the Republicans are the party that freed the slaves.”
He didn’t stop there. Cannon added, “I don’t subscribe to either party. I rock with W.E.B. Du Bois, when he said there’s no such thing as two parties. It’s just one evil party with two different names.” Philosophical! Historic! Also, a little chaotic when you’re sitting next to Amber Rose and praising Donald Trump in the same breath.
Because, praise Trump, he did. When Rose said, “As of now, I agree with a lot of things that he’s doing,” Cannon interrupted with: “He’s f—ing cleaning house!”

Nick Cannon, everyone. Father of a small village, host of The Masked Singer, and now apparently a man who loves Trump.

He continued: “We got the Gulf of America now. [Trump is] like the club. He’s charging a $5 million bottle service fee to get into the country. I f*** with Trump.” Truly, the most Nick Cannon way to express support for a sitting president.
Now, about that KKK claim. While factions of the Democratic Party were responsible for the rise of the KKK right after the Civil War, it’s not widely believed that the entirety of the party endorsed the formation of the white supremacist group. PolitiFact has previously debunked the belief that the KKK was formed by the Democratic Party. The parties have also undergone massive ideological realignments since Reconstruction — a detail Cannon conveniently left on the cutting room floor.
When Cannon called Democrats “the party of the KKK,” he was referencing a real, documented period in American history where Southern Democrats were tied to white supremacist power structures during Reconstruction. However, what often gets left out is the political realignment that took place decades later. Civil rights legislation forced a break in political identities, and many segregationist Southern Democrats eventually moved toward the Republican Party.

It’s also worth noting the context here. Cannon seemingly did not endorse a political candidate in 2024, but did say he was voting for Kanye West for president in 2020 (so that tells you all you right there). So we’re not exactly looking at a guy with a consistent, clearly articulated political philosophy. We’re looking at a guy who has a lot of opinions and a lot of platforms to share them on.
Cannon wasn’t framing himself as a Republican, and he didn’t suddenly start campaigning for Donald Trump either. Instead, he positioned himself as somebody who doesn’t trust either side. Which is fine — but calling Democrats the KKK party while enthusiastically shouting that you love Trump is a very particular brand of “I don’t pick sides.”
The internet, naturally, has thoughts. And Nick Cannon, naturally, has enough shows to address all of them whenever he feels like it.
