The first teaser trailer for David O. Russell's John Madden biopic Madden has been released, and it's definitely something that needs to be seen to believed.

"They have no idea where we are, who we are, where we're coming from, or who we're throwing to," film star Nicolas Cage, playing the titular role, says at one point in the brief teaser.

Amazon MGM Studios debuted the teaser during the Denver Broncos-Kansas City Chiefs game, which aired on Prime Video Christmas night. The film chronicles Madden's journey from humble beginnings to NFL legend as head coach of the Oakland Raiders to a long and successful stint as a commentator, before later becoming a pop culture icon as the face and voice of the John Madden Football and Madden NFL video games released beginning in the '80s.

Cage — looking quite boxy in his attempt to emulate the football coach — is joined by fellow Oscar winner Christian Bale playing Al Davis, the owner of the Raiders during Madden's time with the team.
