Off Campus star Ella Bright shared a childhood photo of herself attending Taylor Swift’s 1989 concert after she hugged the superstar at the 2026 MTV VMAs.

Bright, 19, who stars in Amazon Prime Video’s hit hockey romance series alongside Belmont Cameli, had her dreams come true at the VMAs when her seat was suddenly switched next to the Blank Space singer. Bright’s love for Swift isn’t a secret, as she has brought up the singer-songwriter’s name in several interviews and even sought inspiration from her to step into her Off Campus character, songwriter Hannah Wells.

It comes as Taylor Swift fans convinced career change is in pipeline after series of clues.

While Bright was initially sitting next to her Off Campus co-star, when Dakota Johnson went on stage to present Swift with the Artist Director Honors at the VMAs, Bright was suddenly spotted sitting next to the 14-time Grammy winner.

Bright was seen smiling from ear to ear as she sat beside one of her idols. When Swift was called up to receive her award, she pulled Bright into a hug before going on stage. Bright, who is a self-proclaimed “huge Swiftie,” was seen visibly fangirling after she received an embrace from the singer-songwriter.

The actress shared a carousel of pictures on Instagram of her night at the VMAs, including a sweet photo of herself as a child attending Swift’s 1989 tour. She even set her post to Swift’s song 'long story short' from Evermore.

She was beaming in her throwback photo, showing a heartwarming resemblance to her reaction when meeting her idol at the award show. Bright also shared a video of herself attending the 1989 tour on her Instagram Stories.

Bright also included a picture of a tweet captioned, “Somebody check on Ella Bright!!!!” with two pictures of her hugging Swift.

Her fans have been going wild over the interaction, given how often she has talked about Swift in interviews.

“How do you feel hugging the taylor swift,” another user wrote, while the official Instagram account commented, “So how’s life after meeting taylor swift.”

The VMAs also posted a video of Bright and Swift chatting during the ceremony, with the caption: “It’s my dream to be sitting next to @ellabright & @taylorswift at the #VMAs.”

Bright previously shared a playlist of songs that helped her get into her Off Campus character, Hannah, and she included multiple Swift songs, including 'mirrorball,' 'Guilty as Sin?,' 'The Alchemy,' 'Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve,' and 'How You Get The Girl.'

In an interview with Elite Daily, she shared that Swift’s 1989 felt most aligned with the character Hannah, a singer-songwriter on the show.

“‘You Are In Love,’ and the whole 1989 album felt very connected to her storyline in a lot of ways,” Bright told the outlet. “And that’s my favorite album, so shoutout.” Now it's a full circle moment for Bright as she met Swift at the VMAs.
