Even celebrities get starstruck, and Academy Award winner Helen Mirren admitted she has had a few of those moments in her lifetime.
The Oscar winner reflected on her career ahead of the inaugural Golden Eve on Tuesday, Jan. 6, where she received the 2026 Cecil B DeMille Award for achievement in entertainment.
“It's very intimidating, for me anyway, because I'm very starstruck and I find myself acting opposite Bruce Willis or Will Smith or Harrison (Ford) or Al Pacino, and it's like, 'Oh my god, can I handle this?'" Mirren, wearing a pink gown with a statement necklace, said on the red carpet. "The generosity and the kindness is so massive and the feeling of being welcomed."

Mirren has received numerous accolades throughout her career, including an Academy Award for best actress for "The Queen" and three Golden Globes.

The event also honored "Sex and the City" star Sarah Jessica Parker with the Carol Burnett Award, given to a person who has made outstanding contributions to television on or off screen. It was created in 2019 and named after the comedy icon.
Despite the big honor and her illustrious career, Parker, in a sparkly white gown and black blazer, remained humble about her achievements.
"I’m feeling good fortune that I was able to sort it all out and carve out a career for myself. It's what I most wanted from the time I was very little," Parker said. "And I don't pretend I didn't work hard and was dedicated to the point of distraction perhaps, but I think that I'm always aware that other people work just as hard and didn't have that same good fortune.

"On a night like tonight, when I'm forced to reflect, I feel incredibly lucky that I got to work on the projects that I did and learn from legends and emerging actors and have extraordinary stories to tell and great directors. So I feel like I really got far more than I had ever hoped for," she continued.
Parker is best known for her role as newspaper columnist and fashionista Carrie Bradshaw in the television series "Sex and the City" and its sequel series "And Just Like That...," receiving two Emmy Awards and four Golden Globes for the former. Several of her costars, including Evan Handler, Kristin Davis and David Eigenberg, reunited on the red carpet ahead of Parker's honor.
Speaking on their 28-year friendship, Davis said Parker has "been very warm and very maternal and caretaking" from the moment they met.
"We spent like 18 hours a day together for many, many years, so I think that like most friendships, over time there would be little moments of more trust, more trust, more trust, and when you're doing something like our job, which is very intense, you really have to kind of be there for each other," Davis said. "Over time, just seeing who she is and how much she cares and how much she really supported all of us, it just grew little by little."

The inaugural Golden Gala, held at the Beverly Hilton, will air Thursday, Jan. 8 (CBS, 8 p.m. EST/5 PST, streaming on Paramount+) ahead of the 83rd annual Golden Globes on Sunday, Jan. 11 (CBS, 8 p.m. EST/5 PST, and streaming live for Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers).
