P!nk took to Instagram on February 26, 2026, to deny separation reports from People and Us Weekly, calling them âfake news, not true.â
She sarcastically noted that her two kids were also âunawareâ of their parentsâ split â because it isnât happening.
P!nk used the moment to redirect attention to her Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nomination and more pressing issues like the Epstein files and womenâs Olympic achievements.
Leave it to P!nk to find out sheâs separated from her husband of 20 years the same way the rest of us did â by reading about it on the internet.
On February 26, 2026, People magazine dropped an âexclusiveâ citing an unnamed source claiming that P!nk and former motocross racer Carey Hart had split for the second time in their two-decade marriage. Us Weekly quickly followed suit. Within hours, the tabloid industrial complex had declared yet another celebrity marriage dead on arrival.
There was just one problem: P!nk had no idea.

The âRaise Your Glassâ singer clapped back fast, posting a fiery Instagram video and writing in the caption, âLike I always say. If you donât hear it from me, donât believe the hype.â
In the clip â which, yes, contains some very P!nk-appropriate strong language â she wasted absolutely no time. âI was just alerted to the fact that Iâm separated from my husband. I didnât know. Thank you People Magazine. Thank you Us Weekly. Thank you for letting me know,â she said sarcastically.
She wasnât done. âI was wondering, would you also like to tell our children? My 14-year-old and 9-year-old are also unaware,â she continued.

Brutal. Efficient. Completely on brand.

P!nk then pivoted â as only she can â from defending her marriage to asking why entertainment outlets werenât covering things that actually matter. âOr do you want to talk about some real news? Do you want to talk about the Epstein files? Do you want to talk about systemic racism or misogyny in sports or how classy the womenâs hockey team is, or how eight of the 12 medals won in the Olympics this year for the U.S. were won by women?â
She also made sure to mention her own rĂ©sumĂ©. âDo you want to talk about my accomplishments, or do you only want to talk about my supposed demise? So, âfake newsâ â not true,â P!nk concluded. âI fâking hate that term. I love you all. Go with God. And trash news: you can do better.â
The P!nk-Carey Hart separation story has a familiar narrative arc, which is probably why it had legs in the first place. The singer and former motocross competitor first started dating in 2001 after meeting at the 2001 Summer X Games in Philadelphia. Four years later, they got engaged and married in 2006, with a ceremony in Costa Rica. Two years later, the couple separated amicably and got back together in 2009. That actual separation even inspired P!nkâs banger âSo What.â History, it seems, made for irresistible tabloid bait.
But the couple has been rock solid â or at least loudly committed to figuring it out â for years. In January 2025, while celebrating her 19th wedding anniversary with Hart on Instagram, P!nk wrote, âIâve been with you longer than I havenât. Youâve been my one constant. You have loved me, hated me, and loved me again. I love our story no matter what gets written. It is gritty and sweet.â

As for the fake news Carey Hart split narrative, People its story to acknowledge the Instagram denial, noting P!nkâs representatives declined comment, and Hartâs did not respond â a detail that will likely fuel exactly zero follow-up think pieces about journalistic sourcing standards.
P!nk, meanwhile, has considerably better things to focus on. She was recently nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the first year she was eligible for induction, landing among 17 nominees in 2026 alongside Mariah Carey, Oasis, the Wu-Tang Clan, and Shakira.

So to recap: P!nk is not separated from Carey Hart. Her kids didnât need to find out from People. And âtrash newsâ â her words, not ours â can absolutely do better.
