Prince Harry is reportedly taking on more of the at-home parenting routine in the marriage while Meghan Markle stays busy with her work. Now that it has been years since the couple stepped away from royal duties, sources reportedly claim that the day-to-day balance at home looks very different from the roles Harry once knew.

Harry reportedly says he defines success differently than he once did. In that, as a source reportedly claimed, “For Harry, success now is a quiet dinner at home, a surf session at dawn, or reading a bedtime story. That is the life he fought to create.”

OK! Magazine exclusively reported that Prince Harry has settled into life in Montecito, California, where his marriage to Meghan Markle involves raising their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The couple stepped back as working royals in January 2020 and later moved to the U.S.

A source close to the couple told the outlet, “Harry has completely recalibrated his priorities. He is the one doing the morning routine, the pickups, the beach walks with the kids. In many ways, he is 100 percent a house husband, and he is comfortable with that.”

Moreover, the insider claimed, “He genuinely dislikes the Hollywood circuit.” They added that it is not “his natural habitat,” and “he tolerates it for Meghan’s sake, but it drains him.” The source continued, “He would much rather be at home in Montecito than circulating in a ballroom full of executives. He is essentially now 100 percent a house husband as he basically hates the showbiz scene where his wife thrives.”

Another source pointed to Harry’s complicated relationship with public life. They explained, “He was born into an institution built on duty and visibility, but that does not mean he ever felt at ease in it,” adding, “California gives him space and anonymity he never truly had before.”

Still, one source claimed that Archie and Lilibet growing up removed from royal history “hurts him.” However, as another insider claimed, “At the same time, he believes he has given them something more valuable – freedom.”
