Prince Harry wasn't invited to the upcoming wedding of his cousin Peter Phillips to Harriet Sperling

A friend of the couple told Hello! magazine, "Peter and Harry haven’t spoken for several years and have simply lost touch, so he hasn’t been invited"

The former Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson are also not on the guest list for the June 6 nuptials

Prince Harry won't be part of his cousin Peter Phillips' wedding to Harriet Sperling.

The Duke of Sussex wasn't invited to the nuptials, taking place next month on June 6, according to Hello! magazine. A friend of the couple told the outlet, "Peter and Harry haven’t spoken for several years and have simply lost touch, so he hasn’t been invited."

Spokespeople for Prince Harry and Peter had no comment when reached by PEOPLE.

Prince Harry, 41, and Peter, 48, grew up attending many royal events together, from Trooping the Colour (the annual celebration of the monarch's birthday) to the royals' church outings for holidays such as Christmas and Easter.

After the Duke of Sussex and Meghan Markle stepped back from their royal roles and relocated to California in 2020, Harry has been seen with Peter during funeral events for their grandparents. Peter walked between Prince Harry and his estranged brother, Prince William, at the 2021 funeral for their grandfather, Prince Philip, and they similarly processed for funeral events honoring their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, in September 2022.

Prince Harry attended Peter's 2008 wedding to his first wife, Autumn, with his then-girlfriend Chelsy Davy.

The friend told Hello! magazine that Peter and Harriet's wedding, which will be the second marriage for both of them, is set to be an "intimate occasion with their close friends and immediate family around them in the Cotswolds. It’s an area where they grew up and is very special to them both."

Peter's mother, Princess Anne, is expected to attend with her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence. The Daily Mail reported that King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Edward, Sophie, Peter's sister Zara Tindall and her husband Mike Tindall are expected to be invited. Peter and Zara are the Princess Royal's children with her first husband, Captain Mark Phillips, whom she wed in 1973 and divorced in 1992.

Hello! also reported that the former Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson were not among the invited guests for the nuptials, with a friend of Peter and Harriet's saying their presence would be a "distraction" amid renewed interest in their ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

Speculation surrounding Peter and Harriet's relationship began in May 2024 when they attended the Badminton Horse Trials together. They continued to attend events together, such as Royal Ascot, where Harriet mingled with members of the royal family.

The pair announced their engagement in August 2025, and their wedding date was revealed in April.

Peter was married to Autumn Kelly from 2008 to 2021, and the pair shares two teenage daughters: Savannah and Isla. According to Hello! magazine, Harriet was previously married to fitness instructor Antonio St. John Sperling, with whom she shares daughter Georgina, 13.

Harriet, Peter and all three of the daughters joined King Charles and the royal family for church on Easter at Windsor Castle in April.
