A red-hot pop star currently has a Billboard chart bookended. What are the chances?

Olivia Dean's hit track “Man I Need” has risen to No. 1 on Billboard’s Pop Airplay chart (dated Jan. 3, 2026). Meanwhile, her song “So Easy (To Fall in Love)” has debuted at No. 40.

"Man I Need" is the first entry on the coveted list for the British singer-songwriter, 26, following a recent trend of rookies achieving the same feat, Billboard reports. HUNTR/X’s “Golden,” from Netflix's hit film KPop Demon Hunters, remained at No. 1 for three weeks beginning in November after “Messy” by Lola Young reigned for a week in May, the magazine also noted on Friday, Dec. 26.

“Man I Need” marks the fifth consecutive new Pop Airplay No. 1 from the Republic label, according to Billboard, The song follows:

Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia,” which topped for five weeks starting in late November

the aforementioned “Golden”

Justin Bieber’s “Daisies,” which ruled for three weeks, beginning in October

Sabrina Carpenter’s “Manchild,” for one week in September

Both of Dean's songs currently charting on the Billboard survey are from her sophomore album The Art of Loving, which rose to No. 5 on the Billboard 200 in November.

“Every day, I’m being told a new stat,” she told the magazine back in October, when her latest tracks were already charting. “It’s a bit of a new world for me.”

Earlier this month, Billboard released its top 200 Albums year-end chart, and Dean's The Art of Loving shockingly didn't make the 2025 list — which one fan insisted was “crazy work” in commenting on the magazine's Instagram post promoting the chart.

Over at the Today show, however, Dean got lots of love when the hosts revealed their top 5 most listened-to songs from this year. Four out of five of Sheinelle Jones' picks were tracks by newly minted Grammy nominee.
