David, 76, and McPhee, 42, recently celebrated seven years of marriage after first meeting on American Idol in 2006
Sara Foster is fully supportive of David Foster and Katharine McPhee's relationship.
The 45-year-old shared her opinion on her father's seven-year marriage to the American Idol alum, 42, during an appearance on Let's Be Honest with Kristin Cavallari on Tuesday, June 30.
When asked about her relationship with McPhee, Sara said: "She's really amazing."

"I have to tell you, she really is," continued Sara, noting that becoming a part of her famous family is "not easy."
Sara pointed out that David and McPhee have "gotten so much s---" about their age difference, with the family patriarch being 76.
"Everyone has an opinion about something," said Sara. "And you know what? They're like 12 years in, and they are happy.”

David first met McPhee in 2006 on American Idol when she was a contestant, and he was a guest mentor. Rumors of a romantic relationship began in 2017, and they confirmed speculation with their red carpet debut at the Met Gala the following year.
Sara noted on Tuesday that McPhee is a "fully consenting lady."

“This is not like some child bride," said Sara. "She is in her 40s.”
Speaking further about her relationship with McPhee, Sara said she understands that it can be "hard" to be a stepparent.
"I think you want to ride the line of wanting your partner's kids to like you and wanting to show up as a motherly figure," said Sara. "But you also have to have respect for the the biological mom. I think it's a tough balance, and I think she does it really well.”

When host Kristin Cavallari asked Sara whether it was possible for McPhee to "mother" her, Sara pointed out, "I am older than her."
"I look at her as a sister, but like she is my stepmom," she added. "She's my dad's wife. So, I think it's normal for her to come in and kind of take over in certain [situations], and she really doesn't do that."

Over the weekend, McPhee celebrated seven years of marriage with Foster on her Instagram Stories by sharing photos and videos from their 2019 wedding at the Church of Saint Yeghiche in London.
