Days of Our Lives star Susan Seaforth Hayes is welcoming the start of spring by giving fans a glimpse into her backyard garden.

Hayes shared a video of the orchids growing in her garden and reflected on their longevity.

“Happiness in life depends on finding the right spot,” she said in the clip. “Can you believe these orchids, some of them are seventeen years old. They found a happy place and they’re still living with me. I bought them at Trader Joes, what a great experience life can be when the flowers bloom. Happy spring.”

Hayes also included a caption alongside the video, writing: “We all have heard being in the right place at the right time can mean success- these orchids found their happy spot in my garden. Just enough light, just enough shade. Find your happy place in life, I guarantee you’ll bloom 💐”

The shop has also become a gathering place for a widows’ book club where Salem residents can support one another through grief.

Hayes has been a part of Days of Our Lives since 1968, when she assumed the role of Julie Olson. The actress left the part in 1984, before returning in 1990. The actress left three years later, before making guest stints in 1993, 1994, 1996, before returning in a more recurring capacity in 1999, where she has remained a fixture ever since.

In addition to her role on Days of Our Lives, she has also appeared on The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful, and Sunset Beach.
