Taylor Swift will be inducted into the 2026 Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame!
On Tuesday, Aug. 11, the 2026 Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame inductees were announced by Mark Ford, executive director of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Foundation, at Belmont University’s Johnson Theater.
Swift, 36, was announced as the youngest-ever inductee to join the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Class in the 20-year Contemporary Songwriter/Artist category. She was nominated alongside Lyle Lovett (30-Year Veteran Artist category), Bruce Channel (30-Year Veteran Songwriter category), Shawn Camp (20-Year Contemporary Songwriter category) and Lee Thomas Miller (20-Year Contemporary Songwriter category).
“From the time I started writing songs as a child, I fixated on Nashville as the perfect place to be,” she said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE. “I wanted to learn with and from the best and get to immerse myself in a community of storytellers, and thankfully Nashville turned out to be exactly what I’d dreamed of. A town that validated and prioritized hard work, determination and imagination.”

Swift added: “Where the writers show up to work every day even when the mysterious muses and the magic don’t. To be honored by this city I love so much is a beautiful thing, and I’m very grateful.”
The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame will choose one inductee from that category, in addition to songwriters from other categories.
Since 1970, the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame has inducted 254 songwriters.

Swift was inducted into the 2026 class in June alongside Walter Afanasieff, Terry Britten and Graham Lyle, Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons of KISS, Kenny Loggins, Alanis Morissette and Christopher “Tricky” Stewart.
She made history as the youngest-ever woman to receive the honor. (Previously, Stevie Wonder became the youngest inductee at the age of 32 in 1983, per the Songwriters Hall of Fame website.)

Before her induction, Sombr, whose real name is Shane Boose, covered Swift’s tracks “Dear John” and “Cardigan” in her honor.
After being introduced by Steven Spielberg at the ceremony, Swift got emotional in a heartfelt speech as she thanked her parents, Andrea and Scott Swift and her brother, Austin Swift, 34, for their support over the years.
Swift submitted “All Too Well (10 Minute Version),” “Blank Space,” “Anti-Hero,” “Love Story,” and “The Last Great American Dynasty” for consideration for the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
The 2026 Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place later this fall. There will be at least one more nominee revealed during that evening.
