It’s a love story, baby just say yes … to the dress!

Taylor Swift has spent nearly two decades giving us style eras alongside music eras, and if there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s this: the woman loves a fairytale fashion moment.

Whether she’s channeling Old Hollywood sirens, stepping out dressed like a mirrorball or leaning into ultra-romantic silhouettes, Swift’s style usually has a touch of fantasy and there’s almost always a detail (or 10) that fans will dissect for months afterward.

Which is exactly why imagining Taylor’s wedding dress feels less like celebrity style speculation and more like a moment that will forever change the direction of bridal couture culture. While some brides opt for sleek simplicity, Swift’s style history suggests she may go bigger: a sweeping train, a princess-inspired silhouette or a gown that feels like it was plucked from the Met’s costume exhibit.

What do we know? We’re pretty sure longtime stylist Joseph Cassell will be the one curating her wedding weekend wardrobe. And she’ll likely be rocking a red lip and winged liner, and maybe even a Kansas City Chiefs garter belt. (Okay, the last one is fan fiction). As for the dress designer, see our predictions below. And don’t forget to keep up with PEOPLE's Taylor and Travis wedding countdown live blog for the latest from MSG and beyond.

Oscar de la Renta

Brittany Talarico, Style and Beauty Director:  If I’m going with my gut, the ceremony dress is Oscar de la Renta. Taylor has her own love story with the house, wearing the label for some of her biggest red carpet moments over the years like the 2014 Met Gala and her Eras Tour concert film premiere in 2023. And she might have dropped her biggest style Easter egg of all by wearing a vibrant yellow, crystal-embellished gown from the fashion house to perform her new hit "I Knew It, I Knew You" at the Toy Story 5 premiere.

The brand consistently aligns with so many of the style signatures she returns to again and again: romance, femininity, timeless glamour with just the right amount of high-fashion drama. Swift also has a longstanding relationship with former Oscar de la Renta co-creative directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia, and she has continued supporting their work beyond the fashion house itself, recently stepping out in their label Monse during her surprise appearance with Lainey Wilson at Tight End University concert in Nashville. Kim and Garcia recently stepped down from their roles at ODLR at the end of last year, but they could return to make something entirely custom for Taylor that blends that classic princess energy she loves with modern details that the duo is known for.

While the MSG castle has been debunked by PEOPLE, we do know the inside of the iconic N.Y.C. venue has been "transformed" with "grass and canopies," which aligns with the ODLR aesthetic. The label showed its fall 2026 collection at the 2026 Symphony Fashion Show in Nashville and the show featured a live performance from Lainey Wilson (we know Taylor is once again leaning into her country roots). Romantic gowns with tulle skirts and bodices covered in ivy hit the runway as well as a few wedding dresses.

I could also see her wearing Monse for the afterparty. This crystal chain fringe dress is so giving live of a (married) showgirl!

Dior Haute Couture

Alex Apatoff, Managing Editor, Special Integrated Projects: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Taylor will be wearing Dior by Jonathan Anderson down the aisle. (Not to call myself a psychic genius or anything, but when I noticedTaylor modeling an assortment of very distinctiveDior purses all spring, I assumed a wedding dress was in the works.)

And if the rumors (and my red string/bulletin board conspiracy theory brain) are correct, she’d be in good company: Dior has made wedding gowns for some very high-profile celebrity brides, including Miranda Kerr, Karlie Kloss, Jennifer Lawrence and — my personal favorite — Gwen Stefani, from her first marriage.

Anderson just joined Dior in 2025, but he’s already made a major impact, sending a gorgeous bridal gown down the brand’s Couture runway earlier this year (above left) and creating an exquisite wedding dress for one of the most closely-watched brides of 2026, Ming Xi. (If you thought getting married at Madison Square Garden was intense, try securing permits to be the first wedding in 1,000 years at Mont Saint-Michel.)

Though Taylor hasn’t been worn much Dior on red carpets in the past, I can see her being attracted to the brand’s romanticism and history; perhaps she’ll even draw inspiration from past Haute Couture collections, like this fall 2008 gown designed by John Galliano (abive right), or something from the 1989 archives designed by Gianfranco Ferré?

Stella McCartney

Michele Corriston, Executive Director of Social: There’s no one better suited to usher our bride into her Lover girl, wifey era than Stella McCartney! The two collabed on a perfectly pastel ready-to-wear collection during the pop star’s 2019 album cycle. Taylor’s iconic plaid coat on the cover of evermore? Stella again! Though Taylor usually sticks to streetwear from her designer pal, Stella’s simple, sexy drapery would be a modern yet romantic move for Miss Americana — if not for the gown, then at least the second, third or thirteenth look!

Versace

Andrea Lavinthal, Executive Director, Special Integrated Projects: If Taylor really wants to be bejeweled when she walks down the aisle (or into the reception), Versace would be the way to go. After all, the label created her glittering, crystal-embroidered “Lover” bodysuit for the opening set of the Eras tour.Versace recently appointed Pieter Mulier (formerly of Alaïa), as its new chief creative officer, and while his debut collection isn’t until 2027, if anything could get this man to start sooner, it’s creating a wedding look for Swift.I’d love to see him dive into the archives for inspiration, specifically the 1995-1996 haute couture show where Kate Moss walked the runway as the bride for Gianni Versace’s Atelier Versace Autumn/Winter haute couture show. She wore a glittering minidress with matching crystal boots (very Taylor), plus a sparkle-trimmed veil. Moss even had a dusting of glitter across her face. Now that’s how you make the whole place shimmer.

Vivienne Westwood or Zimmerman

Michelle Lee, Style Writer/Reporter: Taylor is loyal to a handful of labels, and based on her recent looks (because boy, does she love an Easter egg!) I'm putting my bet on two. Taylor has worn Zimmerman dresses for low-key date nights (below), but I can see her leaning into the label’s florals and lace at the altar as a nod to Travis’ grand garden proposal — and what appears to be the theme of the night. Vivienne Westwood (above) has also been a staple for Taylor on and off stage; one look that has permanent residence on my mood board is her custom Eras Tour gown inscribed with the lyrics to “Fortnight.” How romantic would it be if she walked down the aisle in a perfectly draped gown decorated with her vows to Travis?

Catherine Santino, Style Writer/Reporter: She’s only worn Schiaparelli once (to the 2024 Grammys), but leave it to Taylor to throw fans a curveball when it comes to her wedding look. I can see her wearing something similar to her Grammys look for the big day — traditional bridal with a twist, featuring an interesting silhouette.

Ralph Lauren

Kelsie Gibson, Senior News Editor, Society and Culture: Nothing says Americana quite like Ralph Lauren. And for a girl that’s known for her epic Fourth of July bashes, wearing a gown by the designer for her wedding celebration (that just so happens to fall over the holiday weekend) seems like a perfect fit. The singer has donned the designer on numerous occasions, from N.Y.C. street looks to the 2010 Met Gala, which was actually quite bridal. Not to mention, Swift and Kelce were both decked out in Ralph Lauren for their engagement photos, with the football star donning a cable-knit polo sweater and the singer wearing a striped silk-blend dress, the latter of which sold out in a casual 20 minutes. We know Swift loves her Easter eggs. Perhaps the outfit choices were a nod to what’s to come for their big day?
