Rep. Jake Auchincloss (D-MA) condemned Hasan Piker for mocking slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk and said the Democratic Party ādoes not standā for what the popular socialist streamer advocates.
Auchincloss slammed Piker during an interview on Fox News Sunday.
Anchor Shannon Bream mentioned Piker was captured on video sarcastically singing the AI-generated song āWe Are Charlie Kirkā at a democratic socialists event on Friday, before asking, āWhatās your message to those within your party who are campaigning, fundraising and appearing with Hasan Piker?ā
āI reject Hasan Pikerās ideology,ā Auchincloss said. āWhether it was seeming to celebrate or at least excuse 9/11, whether itās seeming to excuse the assassination of Charlie Kirk ā which I condemned immediately. The Democratic Party does not stand for what Hasan Piker stands for.ā
The liberal lawmaker was referring to Piker claiming the USA ādeservedā the 9/11 attacks; Piker has said the comment was misinterpreted, but some have questioned how sincere his walk-back was, considering he framed a picture of The New York Times front page showing the Twin Towers getting destroyed.

At the same time, Auchincloss did not go as far as ripping his Democratic colleagues for embracing Piker. Instead, he seemed to suggest it was an unsavory but necessary move to win more votes.
āThe Democratic Party also needs to be able to reach young voters from all walks of life who are angry at a status quo in which tehy cannot afford to buy a home, in which they do not believe Social Security will be there for them in their retirement, and in which they see corruption run rampant in Washington, D.C.,ā Auchincloss said.
His interview comes after Piker was seen on the campaign trail alongside Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed (D), as well as democratic socialists likeĀ Darializa Avila Chevalier (D) and Claire Valdez (D), who both won their Democratic primaries in New York City. His push for Francesca Hong (D) ā perhaps best known for claiming Thanksgiving should be canceled ā to become Wisconsinās next governor did not go as well, though, with Hong recently losing her primary.
Watch above.
