The exciting news comes five months after the couple tied the knot in Spain
Michael Trevino is going to be a dad!
The Vampire Diaries alum, 40, is expecting his first baby with model wife Bregje Heinen, 32, sharing the exciting news on Instagram. The black-and-white clip begins with scenes from their wedding, including a sweet voiceover about how a person would choose to do life with their partner all over again.
The video then cuts to a piece of Trevino's dad's speech from their wedding, where he jokes that he's going to be 70 years old and "would like to see a grandchild." The next portions of the video show the couple at the start of their parenthood journey as they sit in the hospital room, holding the sonogram. Later, they're taking pictures together in a photo booth with Heinen's baby bump on full display.
"We’ve had a pretty great year… Promise this isn’t just another wedding video… 🤍👶🏻" the expectant mom captioned the adorable clip.

Trevino's Vampire Diaries castmates were quick to comment on the exciting news.
"Perfect perfection," wrote Nina Dobrev, while Candice King, who is also expecting, said, "So so SOOOO excited for you guys!!!! ♥️ ♥️ ♥️ Big love to you both Momma and Dada!"
Vampire Diaries executive producer Julie Plec noted, "Watched this on mute and started crying all over again remembering how much I cried watching it all happen in real time. And then cried again at fun baby stuff at the end!! 🐥🐣🍼"
Heather Hemmens, who starred alongside Trevino in Roswell, New Mexico, wrote, "Omg yaaaay baby Trevino!! Congrats!"
The exciting news comes five months after the couple tied the knot with an elegant wedding in Spain. Trevino and Heinen announced the news of their wedding in a joint post on Instagram on Monday, June 23, writing, "MR & MRS TREVINO 🤍" alongside their wedding date, "06.20.2025," and several wedding photos.
The wedding was filled with alumni from The Vampire Diaries including Dobrev (Elena Gilbert), King (Caroline Forbes), Zach Roerig (Matt Donovan), and Kayla Ewell (Vicki Donovan). The Originals cast members Charles Michael Davis (Marcel Gerald) and King's fiancée Steven Krueger (Josh Rosza) also attended.
At the wedding, Heinen walked down the grassy aisle, which was lined with green and white florals arranged by Flors Amèlia, wearing a Katherine Tash Bridal wedding dress. The designer gushed on Instagram that "it was a dream working with" the bride to craft her wedding looks at their Santa Monica atelier.
"For her stunning celebration at a romantic estate in Spain, she wore our Cecilia gown with a custom designed overskirt, our lace Sage Bodysuit, and our Evangeline Veil," Tash wrote alongside several wedding photos showcasing the stunning dress. "From all of us at the KTB Atelier, we’re wishing Bregje and Michael a beautiful life together — and we can’t wait to share more looks from this unforgettable day."
"The absolute best 🤍🤍couldn’t have felt more beautiful in my dress, and you were an absolutely DREAM to work with 🥹," Heinen replied in a comment.

Trevino and Heinen got engaged on Christmas Eve in 2023. They announced the news in a joint post on Instagram on Dec. 30, 2023, by sharing four cozy photos in Amsterdam in which Heinen wore a diamond ring on that finger. The caption was simple with just the date of their proposal: "12.24.23 🤍💍."
The couple started dating in January 2020 as Trevino marked their first anniversary as a couple in January 2021, writing on Instagram, "It’s been a year of adventures. Thanks for keeping up with me. Happy Anniversary."
