The hit series Off Campus might be based off of the best-selling book series by Elle Kennedy, but the stars of the show have a few more recommendations that you might enjoy. Although they all suggest reading the books based on their own characters—like The Deal for Garrett Graham fans or The Score for Dean DiLaurentis lovers—each cast member had a different response when it comes to their own reading suggestions. Find out what books your favorite stars suggested you give a read and what books inspired them to pursue a career inĀ  entertainment.

Ella Bright

Ella Bright, who shot to stardom as Hannah "Wellsy" Wells in Off Campus, has no shortage of favorite books. While she's a fan of The Deal—the novel that inspired her own character's love story—it was another series that first sparked her imagination: Ruby Redfort.

Written by Lauren Child, the bestselling series follows 13-year-old Ruby Redfort, an ordinary schoolgirl who secretly works as a code-cracking spy, balancing homework with dangerous missions around the globe.

Why Bright loves it: "Oh my gosh. I read the Ruby Redfort book series when I was a kid, and that’s her being in two different worlds," Bright shared.Ā  "She’s a spy and she’s a normal teenager. I remember that when I was reading this. I was on Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. I was a 10-year-old and I had the tiniest role ever, but I remember being, like, ā€˜Oh my Godā€™ā€ I wouldn’t tell anybody. I was such a sneaky little kid, and I’d be leaving school early and being, like, ā€˜I’m literally like the Hannah Montana of the West End.ā€™ā€

What readers are saying: "I mean, it's Ruby Redfort, so of course it's AWESOME!!! I love this, it's so funny and amazing. I love Lauren Child's unique style of writing, which really comes through in this book, and of course, as ever, Ruby's character is phenomenal and quirky, and just so different to your typical spy kid."

Another read that is one of Bright's go-tos is The Thing About Jellyfish, written by Ali Benjamin. The story follows 12-year-old Suzy Swanson who struggles to accept that her best friend has died in a drowning accident.

Why Bright loves it:"The Thing About Jellyfish is a book that I read as a kid and that's like one of my favorite books of all time, so I would love to see that [adapted into a project]," Bright explained.

The story was actually optioned for a feature film but no real plans have been made as of now. However, you can still read the book until the potential project comes out!

What readers are saying: "If you want a book to feel uplifted and inspired ... this is a terrific choice... written by a very bright talented author!"

Belmont Cameli

This self-help book by Don Miguel Ruiz was essential for Cameli when he was a young adult. The Four Agreements outlines a code of conduct that can transform your life. The agreements are 1) Be impeccable with your word, 2) Don’t take anything personally, 3) Don’t make assumptions and 4) Always do your best.

Why Cameli loves it: ā€œI read The Four Agreements when I was 19, when I first started traveling as a young professional. It’s not fiction, but it’s a quintessential read. I read it in such a formative time in my life and it really stuck with me.ā€

In a 2021 interview, prior to booking this role, Cipriano mentioned the book he was reading at the time, which was Matthew McConaughey's Greenlights.

Why Cipriano loves it: "I’m not a big reader, but I want to get into it more. I’m currently reading Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey. My mom recommended it to me. It’s really, really good. I’m listening to the audiobook."

What readers are saying: "Really enjoyed this one...I listened to the audiobook and his narration is absolutely fantastic. If you decide to read this book, you HAVE to go with the audiobook."
