Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift said “I do” at their star-studded Madison Square Garden wedding last week, and reports are now coming out claiming that the newlyweds didn’t know all of their guests.

The Grammy Award-winning singer and her Kansas City Chiefs tight end husband hosted about 1,000 guests at MSG in New York City on Friday, July 3, for a wedding that people cannot stop talking about. Swift and Kelce have yet to release photos from their wedding, but chatter has continued about what the event of the summer was like on the inside.

Their guest list includes hundreds of A-listers, including Brad Pitt, Emma Stone, Mariska Hargitay, Tom Hanks, Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, Patrick Mahomes, Sabrina Carpenter, and Miranda Lambert, to name a few of the big names who were able to secure an invite.

Some aspects of the wedding, beyond the unusual venue at MSG, have drawn criticism, particularly the guest list.

In a new interview with the Daily Mail, a source claimed that some of the guests had never met Swift and Kelce before, yet were still in attendance at the exclusive wedding.

“'We actually don't know them. We were surprised when we got the text,” one source told the Daily Mail. “It was just all odd and seemed like a corporate charity event.”

“Taylor and Travis worked the room like crazy with Taylor introducing him to every heavy hitter there, especially Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, Brad Pitt, Adam Sandler, and Tom Cruise, all people who can help get him cast in movies because he wants to become a big actor after he retires from football,” one guest claimed, according to the outlet.

“It felt like a networking event to help Travis get a leg up in Hollywood,” the guest added.

While the couple decided against a traditional bridal party, opting for Swift’s brother Austin as her man of honor and Kelce’s brother Jason as his best man, according to People, they chose a high-profile actor to officiate the wedding.

Adam Sandler, who worked with Kelce when the football star made a cameo on Happy Gilmore 2, officiated the wedding.

One source told the Daily Mail that the couple worked the room and greeted all of their loved ones following the ceremony.

Another aspect of the wedding that received mixed reactions was the reception, which reportedly featured a raffle in which guests could win luxury prizes, including Cartier watches, designer handbags, and a vintage 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle.

“It was really bizarre,” one insider told the Daily Mail in the interview. “Straight after the ceremony, Taylor and Travis did a raffle and gave out expensive gifts for an hour. Everyone was weirded out.”

The insider continued to tell the Daily Mail: “It was a circus meet-and-greet. Everyone kind of felt like, why are they giving away Chanel bags as if we are all their poor fans? It was pretty demeaning. It killed the vibe.”

Grammy-nominated American songwriter Aimee Mayo posted an unboxing video on Instagram of the Chanel purse she won at the wedding.

“Thank you @taylorswift @killatrav I never win anything (as far as tickets [ticket emoji] go) and l’ve never had a Chanel purse,” she wrote in her caption. “The whole night was Willy Wonka Wonderful.”
