Joy Behar missed The View again, nearly three weeks after she injured her shoulder.

The 84-year-old hasn’t been on the talk show since late September.

Whoopi Goldberg provided a health update on Behar at the top of Tuesday’s live show.

Joy Behar has once again missed The View, with the 84-year-old cohost and comedian entering her third consecutive week of absence from the Hot Topics table.

Though she indicated last week that Behar was expected to return for the Oct. 20 broadcast, moderator Whoopi Goldberg announced at the top of Tuesday’s show that Behar would again sit out as she recovers from a dislocated shoulder.

“So, Joy is still out healing up. I know, I know, she’s still healing,” Goldberg, 70, said as the audience sighed. “But, she made a big deal calling people in the dead of night, saying, ‘You make sure that you wish Sunny a happy birthday from me.’” Tuesday also marked panelist Sunny Hostin’s birthday.

Hostin smiled at the sentiment, though she expressed sadness over Behar’s extended hiatus from the talk show.

“I miss Joy. We all do. We miss Joy so very much,” Hostin, 58, said. “Joy, if you’re watching, when you get your butt back, I expect a lasagna with a little candle in it!”

Goldberg pushed back on Hostin’s request, telling the legal expert, “We could make her something special” when she returns.

“We’ll have something special when you know you’re on your way back. Hurry back,” Goldberg said. “It’s not the same at the table. We miss you, we do.”

Entertainment Weekly has reached out to The View for more information on Behar’s recovery and lengthy absence.

Last week, Goldberg told The View audience that Behar would again miss several episodes, though she brought a message from the latter, announced at the start of the installment.

“She says, ‘Thanks to everyone who inquired about my recovery. If I was still 21, I’d have bounced back the next day,’” Goldberg noted. “‘But, since I’m an old bat, recuperating takes a bit longer. I plan to be back next week to fill everyone in on all the gory details.’”

Hostin first noted during the aforementioned Oct. 1 episode (which Goldberg also sat out, due to her filming schedule for Netflix’s upcoming ensemble dramedy, Women Like Us) that Behar had injured her shoulder. Both longtime View stars’ absences led to Hostin making a rare appearance in the moderator chair, which Goldberg and Behar usually trade off on their respective days off each week.

Permanent cohost Ana Navarro (who typically joins the cohosts on Mondays and Fridays, in place of either Goldberg or Behar) has also adjusted her weekly schedule to make more regular appearances alongside her fellow cohosts while Behar recovers.

Though she wasn’t on the show, Behar still made headlines over her remarks about an ongoing spat with conservative ex-panelist Meghan McCain, years after the latter exited the show in 2021. McCain left following an on-air dust-up in which Behar admitted she didn’t miss McCain during the conservative star’s maternity leave.

“This group now is very good,” Behar told Vulture of the show’s current dynamic, before making a quip that many interpreted as a dig at McCain: “They all have a sense of humor. Nobody’s mean over there. Over the years, there’s been a couple of little mean girls.” McCain didn’t comment when reached by Entertainment Weekly.

The View continues weekdays on ABC.
