Case Keenum’s wife, Kimberly Keenum, has been by his side through every high and low of his NFL career.

Kimberly was there for another career highlight on Sept. 28, when Case, a third-string quarterback for the Chicago Bears, led the team to a victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. The game marked the 38-year-old quarterback’s first regular-season start in 1,009 days — and the first time his children, son Kyler and daughter Cadence, got to watch their dad play in an NFL game.

After the win, Case spoke to ESPN about how much it meant to share the moment with his family.

“It’s so special. I love my family,” he said. “My wife Kimberly, she’s been here the whole ride. I wouldn’t be here without her.”

So, who is Case Keenum’s wife? Here’s everything to know about Kimberly Keenum and her relationship with the pro athlete.

She and Case are have known each other since their childhoods

Case and Kimberly both grew up in Abilene, Texas, where their families attended the same church. Case’s mom was Kimberly’s physical education teacher in fifth grade, per the Minnesota Vikings website. Meanwhile, Case was friends with Kimberly’s brother Brandon, per The Athletic.

Though Case and Kimberly had known each other since childhood, they were a year apart and attended different high schools. They eventually reconnected during Kimberly’s senior year at a Fellowship of Christian Athletes event.

“He asked me to go get a snow cone with him,” Kimberly recalled to the Minnesota Vikings in January 2018. “That’s kind of where our story started. One of his buddies worked at a snow cone stand, and he would invite Case to stop by. So we went and got snow cones after an FCA event, and ever since then, we’ve been together.”

They got married in 2011

After more than six years of dating, Case and Kimberly tied the knot on June 11, 2011, in their hometown of Abilene, per the University of Houston and Fox Sports. Case’s longtime friend and college chaplain Mikado Hinson officiated the wedding, according to ESPN.

Their nuptials came less than a year after Case suffered a season-ending ACL injury while playing for the University of Houston. Kimberly supported him throughout his recovery — an experience that strengthened their relationship.

“It’s one of the big reasons we’re married today,” Case told ESPN in 2011. “I realized how much she loved me. She showed it. I don’t think I could have gotten that from anybody else.”

After experiencing years of infertility, per Sports Spectrum, Case and Kimberly became parents for the first time in 2019 when they welcomed their son, Kyler, according to the Houston Chronicle. They later welcomed a daughter, Cadence.

Following his victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 28, Case embraced his family on the sidelines before Cadence joined her dad onstage for his postgame interview with ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt.

“It’s going to go down as one of the more special nights of my life. ... I’m so glad to share it with that team in there [and] this team right here at home,” Case said as he gave his daughter a tight squeeze.

Kimberly supported Case’s NFL career from the beginning

After going undrafted in the 2012 NFL Draft, Case signed with the Houston Texans as a free agent, according to the Houston Chronicle, and made his NFL debut the following year. As he worked to learn the Texans’ playbook, he enlisted Kimberly’s help. She would read a play aloud, and Case would repeat it back to her.

“It was really fun to help him,” Kimberly told the Vikings in 2018. “Every single day for a long time, that rookie year, I read plays just to help him learn it.”

She continued, “Now, once in a blue moon or if he’s learning a new playbook, I’ll help him. But otherwise, he’s just on a whole different level now — he doesn’t really need my help. But it was fun to be a part of it.”

In the years that followed, Case’s NFL career took the couple around the country as he played for eight more teams. One of his biggest career highlights came with the Minnesota Vikings in 2017, when he stepped in for an injured Sam Bradford and helped lead the team to the NFC Championship Game, per ESPN.

After spending the 2024 season on injured reserve, Case signed with the Chicago Bears in 2025. Through the many moves, Kimberly became such a pro at relocating their family that the Keenums nicknamed her the “logistical ninja.”

“My family is a big part of me, and I would not be here without their support,” Case told the Chicago Bears in April 2025.
