Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessetteis gearing up for its season finale on March 26. After a whirlwind series of events, devoted fans of the show will finally see the celebrity couple’s story come to an end. Those familiar with JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette Kennedy’s fate are expecting the Martha’s Vineyard flight (and their subsequent deaths) to serve as the dramatic conclusion for Love Story—but viewers already are wanting more from the rich, romantic world of the Ryan Murphy-produced series.
Here’s everything we know about Love Story season 2, despite its limited-series status.
Will there be a season 2 of Love Story?
While Variety revealed that Love Story is “FX’s most-watched limited series ever on Hulu and Disney+” with the first five episodes being “streamed more than 25 million hours since the series premiere on Feb. 12,” there is no indication that a second season of the show is in the works.

Love Story is the fifth installment of Murphy’s American Story franchise, following American Horror Story, American Horror Stories, American Crime Story, and American Sports Story. Each season of the franchise follows the anthology format, meaning that each season has a new plot and cast of characters. Should the show return for a second season, it will likely tell the story of another famous couple as beloved as Bessette and JFK Jr.

What couple would be the subject of Love Story season 2?
Since Love Story season 2 has yet to be confirmed, there is no concrete evidence on what couple it would focus on—but people are already tossing in their recommendations. Fans on the show’s dedicated subreddit are already brainstorming ideas for seasons about Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake, Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier, and Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
When could a second season of Love Story premiere?
Because there is no confirmed release timeline yet, we could look at other renewed shows within the American Story franchise for a general reference.
American Crime Story premiered its first season in 2016, its second in 2018, and its third in 2021. Meanwhile, American Horror Story—the show that launched the American Story franchise—put out a new season every year between 2011 and 2024, with the exception of 2020.
