It's time to say goodbye to the Frasers and Starz's cult-favorite time-travelling drama "Outlander."
The "epic conclusion" of the series, which has spanned nearly 12 years, 8 seasons, and even more jumps through time, took Claire (Caitríona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) on "a heart-wrenching journey" packed with the series' signature romance and drama.
In Season 8 of “Outlander,” inspired by Diana Gabaldon’s international best-selling books, the Frasers return home and "soon find the war has followed them home to Fraser’s Ridge, now a thriving settlement that has grown and flourished in their absence."
"With new arrivals and changes made during their years away, the Frasers are confronted with the question of what they are willing to sacrifice for the place they call home and, more importantly, what they would sacrifice to stay together," the season synopsis said.

The final season of the series builds towards the fateful battle at King's Mountain and Jamie's death. Heughan, in an interview with USA TODAY, said: “Fate and Jamie—I think he's always known that there would be something big to face."
Balfe told USA TODAY she does not know how the series will end and that executive producer and showrunner Matt Roberts "had put some dummy things in, because he didn't want it to leak."
Heughan said the crew filmed multiple options to avoid spoilers leaking.
“We obviously know what we shot,” he said. “There was definitely an ending that I thought should happen and a lot of people pushed for. But I'm as excited as the fans are.”
Here's what to know about the final episode of "Outlander," including the release date and cast.
