Paige and Nikki Bella’s issues took a sharply personal turn during the September 4 episode of WWE SmackDown. What began as Nikki discussing her problems with Paige quickly became a confrontation that brought John Cena’s name into the mix.

Nikki was interviewed backstage and blamed Paige for letting the Bella brand down and ruining her return. She also called Paige a “D class skank” before saying she planned to ruin Paige’s career.

Paige then appeared and immediately fired back. Rather than sticking to their wrestling issues, she targeted Nikki’s past relationship with Cena and used one of WWE’s most recognizable catchphrases against her.

Paige told Nikki, “You have never ever liked me, and do you know why? Because I built my career on hustle, loyalty, and respect. And you? You just slept with it.”

The line directly played on Cena’s “Hustle, Loyalty, Respect” catchphrase and Nikki’s former real-life relationship with the WWE Hall of Famer. Paige then added another personal reference while addressing their upcoming confrontation.

“And in Mexico City, you better bring it. Because if not, I’m going to end your career quicker than your last relationship,” Paige said.

The exchange has drawn significant attention because of the direct references to Nikki’s personal history. Nikki and Cena were previously one of WWE’s most prominent couples. The pair even became engaged in the ring before eventually calling off their wedding.

The segment has also created debate among wrestling fans. Some have praised the sharpness of Paige’s delivery and the personal nature of the promo, while others have questioned whether bringing Nikki’s dating history into the storyline went too far.

Regardless, the rivalry now has another wrinkle heading into Mexico City. With Paige promising to end Nikki’s career, the next chapter between the two looks set to settle more than just an old grudge — and the verbal shots have already landed.
